Description
crystal glaze- a process that actually grows willemite crystals (zinc silicate) on the surface of the glaze- this one uses cobalt for the colorjust as the semester ended, I think I finally caught on to throwing a pot on the wheel... this one turned out pretty decent!
this is my biggest at about 9" high x 8" wide (22cm x 20cm)
this is my best piece to date, so to keep me humble- it got knocked over in the kiln (by crystal vase 3- also mine so I can't yell too loud
I was able to glue the bottom back on and touch up the scarring with acrylic paints- this is the good side
tech talk: wheel thrown b mix, ^6 (electric); sprayed - thicker at top, clear chun on inside
