Description
Two important things: #1 --- Full View#2 --- This looks SO MUCH BETTER ON PAPER! *kicks scanner*
This was a bit of a taxing picture for me, it took a lot of energy for some reason. I was going to have a prettier seashell where the skull is, but I decided to put the skull of a unfortunate drowned sailor there.
Also: my first real profile in a long, long time.

Beautiful work ...I love the hilighting in her tail. It's brought out a lot by the black ends.
The hair is cool too...seems to have a lot of volume
You just keep getting better ^^

Gorgeous piece! I love the rocks, and her TAIL! Gasp! Her tail is beautiful!! The colors are stunning.
The only thing that could be improved is the water...the blue water in the back could be blended better. Prismacolor has a Clear Marker Blender that's just AWESOME for blending Color Pencils! I use the clear marker blenders to blend in the pencils so that the speckled white of the paper doesn't show. It would have given the water a smoother, more fluid look.
Just a tip!
Otherwise, great stuff!

Thank you! I'm glad you like the rocks and mentioned it, that's what I worried a lot about as well as the water. Whenever I do rocks like that, I always wonder if someone's going to say, "Oh, they look like masses of submerged dung, ugh!"
I see entirely your point about the water, and looking back I think the drawing is unfinished; I think adding some darker tones to the water towards the bottom would help too. As for the fabulous Prisma blender marker, *cries* I don't have one yet, nor a blender pencil! I hope to remedy that sooner or later, heh.
Thanks again for your excellent input.

The scales on the tail came out really cool. The shading in general is pretty sweet. The water is the only really weak spot (it's so sketchy while the rest of the pic is so smooth and flowing it doesn't seem to fit). The best part I think is the anatomy. It came out GREAT.
Kudos on getting the pose down so well in such a unique situation. Overall I would give it a
Congrats!

Thanks!
I used Prismacolor pencils (I got a 120 box, muahhaha) If you don't have any, I'd suggest buying some---you can get killer deals on them on Ebay.
