First of all the red Shadow on the left is still Shadow, not a fan character.Anyway, I actually did this duel personality of Shadow before the Sonic one. Again I was wondering about the change brought about by the ultimate power of the chaos emeralds. I always wanted to switch around Shadow’s color scheme so I thought it would be understandable that a chaos emerald could do that, conveniently. Since the chaos emeralds always make our fuzzy friends stronger I guess the red Shadow is stronger than the black one. That and the red one would looks really cool in a black trench coat. And . . . blue fire ROCKS!

The red Shadow looks a lot like my character CT, Shadow's son. Only his red fur is darker.

I have Photoshop elements so I just drew the fire on a seperate layer, put it through one of the blur filters, and made the layer slightly transparent. There are also some cool fire tutorials here on DA, I just can't rember any at the moment.
