Are people that oblivious!?! I've only seen stamps that say "It's Robotnik, not Eggman!" but the makers of those stamps fail to realize it's both names. Yuji Naka has confirmed his real name is Ivo Robotnik while Eggman is just a "common name taken after his shape".Related content

Yeah I've heard fools say that too about Dr. Robotnik and Gerald. XP I know what you were trying to do here, i just wanted to make sure you knew that some people only call them by different names just out of preference not so much that they didn't know. XD But I'm glad it all makes sense.

Wait a second there, Robotnik is supposed to be Julian's new last name which he merely goes by, but in reality his actual last name was Kintobor which as I'm sure you may already know is just Robotnik reversed. So in essence Robotnik Could just be a nick name that he likes to go by without changing his last name. But his real first name is always Julian even though he prefers the sinister sounding Dr. Robotnik instead.
That said though, perhaps He changed his last name indeed to Robtonik, being that its the same last name as Dr. ivo Robotnik and his family(Aosth Robotnik, Sega Eggman and Classic Robotnik).
Julian might be the only one that is naturally named Kintobor and changed it later where as most of the other alternate versions seem to have already had the last name Robotnik without changing it at all. But there are too many different alternate origins to just assume they all apply.
Well now I'm just all confused...

You are speaking about Archie comics, their combination of SatAM Julian and the canon American Dr. Ivo Robotnik. I am speaking about SatAM Julian (and Im sure you agree, both are own stories as many people do not know!).
In SatAM, he is either Julian OR Dr. Robotnik. Not Julian Robotnik, not Dr. Julian, not Robtnik Julian or whaterver. Kintobor and Ivo never appeared in the show. The reasons why he was renamed or what his first or last name is, is not said.
Julian as first name sounds strange to me, since a king would never call his ministers by their first name.

Yes indeed but think about it, have you ever heard of anyone having the last name Julian? I sure haven't. And on top of that he does call Sir Charles by that title instead of Sir Hedgehog.
It is clear though that both Snively and Robotnik never actually seem to have an official last name only first names, but its not that last names simply don't exist at all in that show. Just never mentioned. So i really can't see how Julian could possibly have been Robotnik's last name. XP

Good point, he really called him Charles. I missed that all the time, yes. So he really seems to be Julian Robotnik, just said he is no longer Julian, because he is the "king".

Yeah that pretty much works and makes sense! XD As it is, even though you mentioned a King wouldn't ever call his ministers by first name, which makes sense, he must have really truly trusted Julian to do so being that he was majorly responsible for ending a war on behalf of the Mobians, even though he's human.
I guess Robotnik really was that damn cunning to completely fool everyone one That well only to turn on them when they least expected it, and when he no longer had a threat of any one else taking him on I.E. The humans he just ended war with. Damn Robotnik's good! XD

And even though i'm a huge fan of SatAm's Dr. Robotnik, he's still only second place to Aosth's Dr. Robotnik in my book! But thats just my personal preference, not cause he's really any better or anything! XD I just like him more! =3

Well, I believe his first name is Julian, Robotnik has always been his last name in every continuity out there.

I mostly associate the name Robotnik to the cartoons and early comics. AOSTH was my first exposure to Sonic and knowing how Robotnik acts in that show silly name like Robotnik worked, to me. Not so much for SatAM since I never thought of him as some evil dictator.

Yeah, I think Archie handled it better though. I'm probably gonna get hated for this but I like the Archie comics (Especially Ian Flynn's work) better than SatAM.

yea! Im gunna make a journal bout that actualyly, why I dislike Satam. I like my cartoons funny and silly while my comics a bit more serious-with some humourous touches.
