Did anyone else pick up on Asgore's dialogue when he's defeated?
I'm referring to these lines:
Asgore: I remember the day after my son died, the Underground was devoid of hope.

And

Asgore: I just want to see my wife, I just want to see my child.Β

Asgore said that he wanted to see his CHILD, not CHILDREN, CHILD.

Asgore seems to refer only to Asriel, but, not to Chara at all, even though Chara died on the same day. I wonder, is that an oversight on Toby's part or is it an indication that Asgore no longer claims Chara as his own? The latter would not surprise me, since Chara was the very reason Asriel went to the surface and got killed in the first place.

I don't know if Toriel or Asgore actually knew that Chara was the cause. I think it was mere oversight since Asriel was his actual biological child, but its an interesting thing to think about for sure!

I think lord fawful from mario and luigi series cuz he loves chaos and stole frisk's blood and make a dark from of frisk called: chara and taught her to kill and destroy whithout mercy.

MissIrefulSeraphim In reply to ClassyChassiss [2016-08-21 04:42:39 +0000 UTC]

Well, aside from that, Chara was also human and I know after that day, he wasn't quite fond of humans after that. But, it probably isn't the case, I just couldn't help but wonder about that, I wondered about Toriel's mindset regarding it too, since in her home replica in the ruins, she had only one child-sized chair and one child's bed, while the original home had two of each, though, I guess maybe she just didn't feel the need for it.

If I may throw my two cents in here - I highly apologize for just barging in this conversation - I thinkΒ Asgore says he only has ONE child, just as Toriel only has one child-sized bed and chair, because the two of them refuse to accept Asriel's death, with the easiest way being to neglect his existance altogether. I know that probably makes no sense, but given what it caused, wouldn't it be easier to deny one child rather than accept his death and all the consequences it brought?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MissIrefulSeraphim In reply to Abraxas-Baskerville [2016-10-14 04:51:27 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, well, it recently occurred to me that when the monsters still lived in Home, Asgore and Toriel only had Asriel, so, one child bed and chair makes sense. Well, Asgore did say that "I remember the day after my SON DIED." Toriel never mentions Asriel or Chara, though, I think that was to hide her identity until the end, but, while I think they still think about Asriel, it feels like Chara is more of an after thought. The only indication that either still thinks about Chara is the implication that they both may see the resemblance, though, whether they still consider Chara their child or not is still up for debate.

Yeah, once I thought my argument a bit more through, it made... less sense than I initially assumed.
Still, it'd be rather dark if it were true.
Pfrrt, as if it is.

Asgore: the correct action here is "hug" plzkthx

This comic started out as "good", a sketch style that was maybe a bit rushed but really fun...
... but at the second zoom-in of Asgore's stricken face, it's like, that really changed.
It's just captures the tension of the moment so well...

I want to read the rest of this comic. I want to see their conversation--and maybe, like the panel with Chara in the middle, perhaps see what Asgore is thinking and feeling during that. And then the start of the fight... I imagine you would really portray the disconnect between his violent actions and his gentle, repentant heart.
