Wasgos are sea wolves of Northwestern American cultures, Haida included. They were monsters that lived in the Pacific Ocean. They looked like normal wolf pups when they were born, but eventually grow to be three times the size of any Orca whale. Neither good nor evil, but to be feared nonetheless. Their main prey consisted of Killer Whales, but I highly doubt they'd be picky to humans or selkies.

In one instance, Aurora actually ran into one by accident. She and her friends were fishing when it suddenly roused from its slumber from the bottom of the ocean.

She and the monster were locked in a stare down- she was too petrified to move.

And yet, it did nothing. It merely looked at her She looked at it. This went on for only a minute but it felt like forever.

And then it swam away- not so much as a growl or a howl.

Thus her village called her the little Sea Wolf- the wily youth who looked a Wasgo in the eyes and lived to tell the tale
