Very helpful tutorial! I want to try dry pastel next time.
I really like the dirt on his boots, it's a nice detail!

Thanks, glad you like it! Dry pastels are awesome, just takes some time to get to know how to use that stuff. Cool you saw that dirt, those citadell special effect paints are quite nice!

Great job on this. Your fondness toward horses is apparent in this work.
The mane hair looks good but it is almost triggering my pediophobia...

Thank you very much!
Yeah, probably my favorite animals to sculpt, absoloutely beautiful anatomy...
Haha, I guess you won't be happy, I'm working on a sculpture with way more hair currently! Gotta get you one of those old dolls with real human hair for your next birthday.

You are welcome.
However, If you get me an old doll with real human hair, I will at least put you on my shitty list and will not talk to you any longer.

Wow this is awesome!!!! Super pretty sculpture and awesome tutorial!!!!
And Ive actually got one question, how is dry pastells used? Ive been wanting to try them out for years but never dared cause I simply dont know how to. Do I brush them on, do they stay there? Wont they smudge? So many questions. XD

Thank you very much!!
Dry pastels are compressed so they are hard, you can use a knife or smthn to scratch some powder of and then put them on the sculpture with a brush...you'll have to blow away some spare powder, not all stays on there. They would smudge, most people use a fixative for that, but I think it gives an ugly glaze.. =,D
I just wait a few days and just brush over the colors lightly with a wet brush, but I'm not quite sure if that works with every brand( I use "Pebbles Classic Chalks)..
Hope that helps!
