Phew.I put this together today for a friend's birthday tomorrow. Her favorite animals are bats, so I made her a bat-tastic fleece hat. Even if it is July. Shush.
This hat took about twice as much fleece because of the wing ear-flaps, but I think it turned out really cute. The eyes are orange fleece with permanent marker on top and now my fingernails are black.
I need to find a styrofoam head to replace my balloon and mug thing.

With a feather foot.
mostly just trimming the inside so it makes nice points and carefully, slowly, sewing the veins on top.
