Description

The Helios Sentinel Initiative , or HSI for short, are a UN backed top secret black project put into operation since the 1980's that has been kept highly classified from the public. Formed as a top secret part of the SALT II Treaty. Publicly, the treaty banned the US and the Soviet Union from using Space-based strategic weapons, when in reality they made an agreement to not have them be used against each other and be only used against external threats as both the CIA and the KGB revealed to each other that they're both aware of the existence of and has made contact with extraterrestrial and extradimensional intelligences. And so the Helios Sentinel Initiative or HSI was born, Under the command of the United Nations, secretly protecting earth from outside threats for decades without anyone knowing. Now with several nations signed up for the program, they operate armed spacecraft that patrol the solar system for any incursions.

HSI's ship technology appears to be inferior to that of both Blackstar and Whitemoon , with their ships mostly looking like satellites. Barebones and flimsy. However, their weapons are much more advanced. Utilizing direct energy weapons primarily with power capable of reaching megatons in level. Unlike Blackstar's own ships, their ships are purely built for combatThey are not an immediate threat unlike WhiteMoon as the HSI is one of the main clients that contracts the Blackstar Expeditionary Fleet for several missions making them more friendly in the meantime. Until they catch them breaking any laws and treaties.

Notes: Due to the current geopolitical climate, the UN security council has limited the use of EKVATOR C units. USSF is considering the reactivation of older CALIBURN A5's which are armed with Particle Cannons comparable in strength to the Fissile Macron cannon in the meantime.

Length: 20m
Propulsion: Hydrogen peroxide and Kerosene Liquid fuel engine, Launched to orbit by either Vega-E, Falcon Heavy Block 5, ARCAspace Haas 3, or Ariane 6 A63 Launch vehicles.
Role: Ordinance Carrier/launch platform, Repair and Maintenance, Resupply.
Armaments: 4x weapon hardpoints, usually loaded with either 1 megaton "Shieldbuster" nuclear shaped-charge armed interplanetary range cruise missiles or Tactical Laser pods.
Weapon hardpoints can be swapped for a cargo hold with a robotic arm.
FTL: None

The Laser CIWS on these ships has 2 firing modes:
Thermal Laser for shooting down missiles, projectiles, and small craft. And Electro Laser for engaging larger ships at close ranges to disable electronic systems such as their engines, shields, life support, sensors, weapons, etc...

OOC: Yeah obviously this is based on that trope in fiction of a secretive multinational organization handling threats unknown to the public. They're basically inspired from such fictional organizations such as the MIB, XCOM, the GOC (from the SCP universe), the Humanity First faction in the game Terra Invicta, etc... but in the Blackstar Setting.
The ships meanwhile are based, but not exact copies of, several real world spacecraft. Namely Project Excalibur, Polyus, and Intermediate eXperimental Vehicle, just more sci-fi.
