New pictures of my 18 cosplay. Too bad my belt buckle cover broke during the day, I had to remove it ;(I like this picture, I think it really shows 18 personality

just being technical (^^) : Cyborg 18 or C18 is the french name of the character I don't know about others european countries )
though,I know there is also an alternate name for her which is: Artificial Human #18

By the way, I don't really understand why 18 is called Android in the US version because, being an android means to be a plain robot. But 17 and 18 are part human ( they say in the story they hate gero for turning them into cyborgs, she even got a baby, how can a robot do that?) so technically, 17 and 18 should be called cybord and not android. However, 16 is a full robot (if I remember) so he can be called an android.

The explanation.... The traslation, in some countries is Android 18 (A 18), in others C 18 (Cyborg 18). Android definition is a Robot with human Lookalike. And a robot one is a machine without one Β determinated shape. Other things to say about the serie. In my country the androids talk betwen her and Β C- 16 says... "you be humans at the first but i was created enterely in the doctor Gero laboratory". I donΒ΄t know but must be that the doctor Gero, mades one android ( a robot with human shape). or three. Yes I agree they should be called cyborgs however 16 is an actual android. There is a scene where the three are talking and 17 asks 16 why they used real bodies for 17 and 18 if he didn't need one for 16.

Nah she's right, they were Cyborgs, my best guess is the reason they called them Android in the american dub is cause it just had a better ring to it.

As for Android vs. Cyborg think of it this way. Androids are 100% man-made sentient machines that were built to represent and resemble humans. A good example is Data from Star Trek The Next Generation. You can also consider the Terminator an Android.
Cyborg is a blending of man and machine. Meaning they were constructed using remnants of an actual human being. The most famous example is RoboCop. He was constructed from the remains of Alex Murphy. Other examples are, um, Cyborg from various DC comics and the Borg from the aforementioned Star Trek the Next Generation.
So Jinzo Ningen is Artificial Human. Artificial Human = Android.

LOL Dr. Gero created Androids no.1 to no.16 from scratch, they are androids for sure,
but as he said 16 is a failure (maybe due to the fact that from 16 onwards the androids have their own mind)
since then he took a step back to use human body instead, therefore 17, 18, 19 and himself 20 is converted by true human,
and my theory is he call them "androids" just to make sure that the Red Ribbon doesn't pull back all his research funds. LOL
