New pictures of my 18 cosplay. Too bad my belt buckle cover broke during the day, I had to remove it ;(I like this picture, I think it really shows 18 personality

just being technical (^^) : Cyborg 18 or C18 is the french name of the character I don't know about others european countries )
though,I know there is also an alternate name for her which is: Artificial Human #18

japan:JinzΕ'ningen #18
etc etc
By the way, I don't really understand why 18 is called Android in the US version because, being an android means to be a plain robot. But 17 and 18 are part human ( they say in the story they hate gero for turning them into cyborgs, she even got a baby, how can a robot do that?) so technically, 17 and 18 should be called cybord and not android. However, 16 is a full robot (if I remember) so he can be called an android.

This is great. The quality is a lot better than most cosplay I've seen. I know everyone else has said it, but you definitely captured 18's attitude. I can totally picture her doing this while waiting for 17 to be done with his shenanigans and eventually just saying, "are you done yet?" in her monotone. It made me smile. [link]

I think it's fair to call them Androids only because (at least in the dub), the characters didn't know that they were actually human until Krillin made that wish at the end of the Cell Saga.

And btw, I think the reason 17 and 18 were called Androids in the US, is because all of Gero's previous creations were 100% machine up to them. (Including the ones in the Dragon Ball series) I dont think they wanted to confuse the kiddies.

Yeah I thinkyou are right. And the french version is wrongtoo by calling gero's previous creations "cyborgs" because they were 100% robots. I think it is like you said: they didn't want to confuse us^^

I thought the reason the US version called all of them androids was because America really likes to go overboard censoring anime that kids may watch and having non-humans be harmed would be "less offensive". Although, the point you and this other person make makes a lot of sense, too!
By the way, I agree with you and everyone that you captured 18's personality with your pose.
