I had this left over lineart in my hard drive for a few months. I finally decided to colour it.I drew Piccolo because I always liked the character. Especially when I was a kid. I liked his composure and the fact he didn't show at the first look how powerfull he was.
I think he deserves more interrest than only yaoi parrings with gohan ( which I really really disapprove, he is like a 2nd father to gohan in my opinion , not a lover.)

Well, I can't really say anything that others before me haven't already said, it's just amazing! I love his colouring, true to DBZ, while looking more realistic as well. Truly a fantastic peice of art.
I also agree with you about Gohan. I never really understood people's obsession with pairing him with Gohan romantically. As you said he has a father/son or, as I think of it, a uncle/nephew relationship with him. A great character like Piccolo doesn't need to be paired up with anyone anyway.

Piccolo is pure badass. I finished watching Dragon Ball, and now i'm working on Dragon Ball Z, and i must say i'm so happy that he's in the second series too. Even if he's alot different, we get to see him change, and it's perfect. Love this show.
And this picture of him is amazing. It's almost a realistic photograph. I imagine this is what he would look like in our world. The only thing that confuses me about this is, where is he? The background doesn't match your typical Dragon Ball scenery.

Gorgeous work. I've just been introduced to Dragon Ball Z, and Piccolo quickly became my favorite. This is a beautifully done image of him.

Oh wow. Gosh, whoa. Amazing picture.
Only thing that doesn't completely wrap up in my books are his eyes, they seem to look in slightly different directions. His left eye looks somewhat downwards, his right eye is more staring ahead with his head leaning downward... You know what I mean?
I love the background and the textures! Absolutely gorgeous work. And I agree, he deserves more attention (seriously, Piccolo's no one's lover! He's a Namek, people! They're asexual!)

I really like piccolo in this style. Its like realistic-but-not-quite-there yet. I like how you shaded realistically yet retained the cartoon characteristics of the character. And the fact that you drew Piccolo is an instant win.
