Description
Well, as I've been doing, and been delaying, are some redos while I mess around with new kits. It's nice to see how certain layouts will look on a model versus the older layouts I did earlier. Compare and tell me it doesn't look a little better [link] . And yeah, I submitted a review on it, which also accelerates the whole redo fad I go through.Related content

Nope, just the standard version. They released this version a few years later. I just never felt like putting a second one together with my hopes of seeing a Dom/Rick Dom/Dom II. Now I have those kits to one day purchase so it put it even farther on the back burner to invest in one.

The my version of the Domtropen is older than the recolor I didn't want (though its weapon set is a lovely compared to mine) or the holding out to buy a squadron of Dom variations?

No, I only had the standard purple color version. I kicked myself in the ass when I saw what the desert color version came with for weapon sets, though. So well rounded and pretty it is with machine guns, skirt clips, and a bazooka. All I got was a bazooka and a few mags for the skirt.

Excuse me good sir, but may I ask whether or not this is resin?
I work mostly in the province of 1/144 HG, but I don't have much experience yet.
Last question: Did the decals come with it, or did you buy them from somewhere? If you bought them, form where?

This is the standard old plastic kit that Bandai gives us. It's also HGUC so you'll be familiar with it if you've done the early 2000ish line of kits. They're much simpler compared to more modern HG kits, so don't be too disappointed if you grab one and it's easy to pull apart and paint or build. There is an upgrade for this to turn it into the Advanced of Zeta's Zeon Dom's that were in the manga design for guerrilla warfare, if you'd like to shell out $200 for the resin parts to upgrade the plastic kit.
Decals were from Bandai's waterslide sheets they provided separately. I bought my originally from the www.gundamstoreandmore.com , but you can find them anywhere that sells Gundam models online.

Dang, resin anything is extremely expensive.
My Freshman's salary(Doing random jobs for my family and neighbors, and occasional homework wages from other students) can barely pay for HGs, much less a 200-300 resin conversion kit...
Anyways, really nice work. I like the Dom and Gouf line of suits, so seeing you do such good work on this kit made me happy.
How do you paint it? What kind of paint do you use, and what do you use to apply it?
Also, I buy my MSs at Hobbywave. $12 flat rate shipping, so it's really good for 3 or more kits.

I did most of this painting with an airbrush and Model Master's paints. On the Gouf Custom, I used Tamiya Paint.
I tried Hobbywave once, but what I paid on shipping often didn't off set how much higher their prices were compared to the other places I would shop. I always liked www.gundamstoreandmore.com . That seemed to be the main one, besides HLJ and international stores to get the kits ahead of the curve over here.

Ah. I hope to begin using my father's old airbrush this summer. I don't really know what paint I will use.
See, my....shall we say...thrifty mom doesn't like giving out her credit card info without knowing what the full price will be. I only say this 'cause she kinda distrusts online anythings. I hvae yet to buy any MSs online, so I'll check the Gundam Store and Hobbywave and compare the prices then. I'll tell you the outcome when I am allowed to buy them.
The only reason I don't use HLJ is the fact, one again, my mom doesn't like sending money overseas, especially after convertingg it to yen.

HLJ does there work through Paypal, so you get a double protection. Problem is HLJ also costs an arm and a leg to ship EMS.

Oh ok cool.
Anyways, there's still my mom's dislike of sending money overseas. No protection or guarantee will ever rid her of that, so until I can get my own credit card and house, I will use other means to receive my about 3-weekly Gunpla dose.

Yeah, don't sweat it. I do so many redos, it's easy to get confused. Just with how easy it is to disassemble HG kits after they're built, I love to retune them and practice techniques. I try to warn in advance, but sometimes I forget.

Lots of research and pointers and kits I've done to a point to practice on are really helping out. Plus having a whole area now devoted to models without exception really helps things move along, too.
