So, my brother and I were discussing the capability of the Saturn V (knowing it was technically overbuilt for just the Moon), and he suggested I send it to Mars. So...Okay, I am aware that KSP is not a good simulator for real-life things (I mean, RSS and RO exist, but I don't want to use them), and it's unlikely at best that if Saturn V had lit for Mars that it would have carried a lander with it, but given the extra Delta-V from Kerbin being a much easier planet to reach orbit from than Earth, I thought it'd be fun to land. It does not have enough fuel to get back into orbit, so yes, Jeb is stranded there. I mean, I might JUST be able to reach orbit using the engine, the LEM's RCS engines, and Jeb's EVA pack, but it'd be a very low orbit if even possible.
Anyway, I don't know. The lunacy of this mission seemed fun, to me.
Oh, and I didn't add anything to the Saturn V for this, and there was STILL more fuel in the third stage when I detached it. So I'm wondering just how capable the Saturn V actually is in KSP, I might try sending it out to Jool or Eeloo.
