I like this.. has a feeling of being underwater, but not helplessly so. It's very calming

I think there's more blue in the photo, than in reality

Painting like that looks like a lot of fun. I should try it some time. I like the hint of pink amongst all the blue. ^^

it is always such a pleasure to see your works Cliff....
an uprooted tree trunk, not the first one you've painted, right?
I would like to know what's the fascination behind, or the story, the essence, the symbolism, the analogy, the context...
I have my own stories, when I look at this

You've put me on the spot now,Birgit!
Where do I start? Well,I love trees, and the way they silently work and they're a cleansing mechanism for the Earth. We have a long history with them.I see them here, scattered on dusty land that's being primed for housing. Some dug up.Others being pruned but it's also the organic nature of things that interest me.Yes,I suppose there's always metaphor and that I use the root or the fallen tree as symbol for something much deeper going on and that's a given!
I go with it,an idea, something I see that's obviously related to my state of mind,or my anima at that time and I guess, right now,it relates to my melancholia and thank you for the affirmation on the work

I could feel that...the melancholia I mean...but I was not sure if that was only me feeling my melancholia...but also like you say, the organic nature and the cycle of life that is implicit here...it's melancholic - yes and probably a bit lost (although that could be me again) but still very much connected with life or with a love for life
and you're most welcome

Really appreciate your insights Birgit.
It's often difficult talking about ones work,or at least getting words accross to explain the sense of it.Thanks for your imput,as always
