Description
Created for the game Magic: The Gathering. This guy went through several revisions with the lighting. He was supposed to be shining with a blinding intensity but when you use a lot of white and light tones it made him look too ethereal. Eventually we settled on this where the head remains lightest with the scales getting darker as they descend but with the inclusion of inner lighting between the scales.Related content

Beautiful work. I especially love the underglow of the scales and the veins. Makes the wings look like raging thunder which contrasts nicely with the evening sky in the background.

I like how the wings are appropriately sized for its mass, most people make wings way too small.

A dragon with a hue of warm light emanating from beneath their white scales.
The same glow of kindling embers, is seen flowing through the veins upon their wings, which look like streaks of lightning. ~ Pinterest
Cool glow-in-the-dark dragon.

This is actually my favorite of the new dragon designs released in this set. I wanted to see some cool dragons this set, and I'll be honest, some of them looked a little too prissy and dignified for me. This guy looks unstoppable, and I didn't care what abilities he had, what colors he was, or anything like that, he was already a must have for me with appearances alone.

I think the inner lighting effect worked really well. Good choice. Also: Awesomesauce, seriously.

Very amazing piece of art - I think the vein details on the wings and the inner light are the most striking and memorable details.
Though I'm biased since I started with Abzan, haha.

woow! amazing use of light Mr. Cearley, this image is full and rich in colours i love it, and it's really nice the little detail between every scale that make me feel like if this guy is at point of a high temperature. another stunning piece of art, congrats.

Epic is the word, indeed. The venation of the wings is both very interesting, because it reminds me of lightning, being purely awesome visually, and slightly confusing, just because it seems that the "fingers"/"streamers" that should structure the wing are not strong enough (maybe because they look flat) to keep the wings up (and therefore difficult to fly with). Just an opinion from a fan. Peace.

Yeah, along the chest and belly there is some and that was a lot of fun to play with. Definitely recommend experimenting with it.
