Description
"Independence" was created as the commemorative playmat for the Mexico City Grand Prix, Jan. 31 2015. The title is taken from the Independence Angel statue seen behind the figures, a landmark of Mexico City. The basic concept/composition was one I had in the sketchbook for two years and was glad for the chance to take it to completion. The color scheme of black/white and gold was also something that had been milling in the back of my mind. It's not my norm and that's what made it more fun to do. This is seriously cool! Those colours really make it. I don't think it'd have the same impact with more colour. It'd just be another pretty picture. This one is staying with me for a while
