Yay, first deviation!I thought it might be a good idea to start kind of strong, with a piece I am very proud of. This is something I did early last school year for my pre-AP art class. It was also my first real piece with Prismacolor coloring pencils. The teacher said to play around with abstract ideas, so I just layered a bunch of images. Take from it what you will.
The man, the cat, the radio, and the birds were referenced from photographs found using Google image search (this was before I knew about "stock photos," unfortunately), but they were all pretty heavily altered/recolored when I drew them for myself. I've lost the original photos at this point, but if someone recognizes something and wishes me to remove it, I will.

I really like the composition with this! You've kind of built a triangular composition here with the eye movement, between the person, radio, and the cat, and that works wonderfully. Very strong.

A bit abstract but it all just seems to fit together perfectly...I wish I could used colored pencils that well too! Nice piece! ^^

Thanks! Colored pencils work best if you build them up very, very slowly and mix different pencils together in layers. It's tedious, but it's worth it! If you rush it, the picture loses its depth or turns out streaky. ^_^
