The PrideLands:Pride Name: The PrideLanders
The PrideLands are a lush area of green grasses, trees and at its heart is the collapsed mountain also known as PrideRock. This is where the PrideLanders live and has been their home for generations. The lions here are generally of lighter pelts with a few exceptions. The PrideLands and FireLands have a long standing agreement that one of the lionesses of the FirePride marry one of the royal family of the PrideLands, it began with Mpenzi and travelled down the generations until it was broken by Kiara.
The OutLands:
Pride Name: The Outsiders
The OutLands were once full of trees and beautiful green grass but after the river dried up and was blocked off it becomes barren and home to the termites. A large termite mound is the main defining feature of the OutLands and until Simba’s reign nothing and no one lives there, then Zira and her followers are exiled into these lands and are forced to raise their cubs in the dry and barren land.
The Elephant Graveyard
Pride Name: N/A
The Elephant Graveyard is exactly what it says, it is a barren land full of bodies and bones, the elephants of neighbouring Kingdoms journey here to die and finally rest from their lives of wandering.
The SunLands:
Pride Name: The SunLanders
The SunLands are an area of savannah land with small areas of trees, it is warmer in climate than the neighbouring PrideLands and the lions here are of golden colouration with little to no exceptions. It borders the East of the Pridelands and the royal family live in a large cave, with some tunnels in the East of the lands, near to the coast. The SunLands are a thriving land until the time of Mufasa’s reign in which poachers invade and capture most of the population, taking the lions of this kingdom because of their golden coats. After that the SunLands are almost barren with little prey and few pride members, no other kingdom knows of its fall as the SunLands keep the secret of their downfall to themselves.
The FireLands:
Pride Name: The FireOnes
The FireLands are of a similar terrain to the SunLands and are on the Southern border of the PrideLands. It has a small river running through the heart of the lands and the royal family do not consider themselves special and so sleep outside with the rest of the pride. The lions here are of similar colouration to the PrideLands only slightly paler and of a golden hue. The FireLands have a longstanding agreement with the PrideLands which states that one of their pride must marry into the royal PrideLands line. Before Mohatu’s reign the FireLands was part of the Fire Empire, alongside the Land Of Light and the FlameLands but the Empire fell when the oldest brother demanded the Empire be split into three kingdoms. The other brothers agreed, wanting to have their own kingdoms and it was agreed and the borders set. The oldest got the FlameLands, the middle The FireLands and the youngest the Land Of Light.
The FlameLands:
Pride Name: The FlamingOnes
The FlameLands are the same terrain as the FireLands and shares its borders with four kingdoms, the FireLands to the East, the PrideLands to the North and the OutLands and BushLands to the North-West. The border with the OutLands is the smallest, a tiny strip of land that no lion ever goes near. The Lions are of pale brows, yellows and gold, never has a truly dark lion been born in the land. Before Mohatu’s reign the FlameLands was part of the Fire Empire, alongside the Land Of Light and the FireLands but the Empire fell when the oldest brother demanded the Empire be split into three kingdoms. The other brothers agreed, wanting to have their own kingdoms and it was agreed and the borders set. The oldest got the FlameLands, the middle The FireLands and the youngest the Land Of Light.
The Land Of Light:
Pride Name: The LightOnes
The Land Of Light is of the same terrain as The FlameLands and five Kingdoms share their borders with the small land The WaveLands to the South, The FireLands and a small border with The FlameLands to the West and The SunLands to the North. Out of the three lands that once made up the Fire Empire The Land Of Light is the smallest and the lions there are of the palest coats. No dark lion has ever been born here. Before Mohatu’s reign The Land Of Light was part of the Fire Empire, alongside the FlameLands and the FireLands but the Empire fell when the oldest brother demanded the Empire be split into three kingdoms. The other brothers agreed, wanting to have their own kingdoms and it was agreed and the borders set. The oldest got the FlameLands, the middle The FireLands and the youngest the Land Of Light.
The RiverLands:
Pride Name: The RushingPride
The RiverLands are a lush kingdom of green grass and trees, rivalled only by the PrideLands. When the King of the RiverLands falls ill a young lion takes over by force and the kingdom becomes less lush but survives all the same, it is when the next King takes the throne and also becomes ill that the kingdom falls, Tumboni dies, leaving no heirs and with no other males or strong females the RiverLands become barren and the prey leaves. Many years later a young group of lions come to the lands and the surviving Pride members are wary but when it is revealed they are relatives of the old King the pride is overjoyed, males! Their lines will carry on and the chance for a new King! The throne is taken up by one of the new males and the Kingdom flourishes under his rule, returning to its lush state. The lions here are of all pelt colours though most are tan there are those of darker hues.
The WaveLands:
Pride Name: The CrashingPride
The WaveLands are of similar terrain to the RiverLands and was once part of the Kingdom but split to create its own during Uru’s reign. The lions here live mainly off the fish and hunt far better in water than on land, there isn’t much prey some gazelle mainly and some buffalo but the lions rely on fish for their diet. The WaveLands border The RiverLands to the West and The Land Of Light to the North. The WaveLands care not of the state that The RiverLands are in after Tumboni dies. The King would often try and take the land back into The RiverLands and so does not offer aid or grievance for their trouble. The lions here are of the same pelt colours to The RiverLands though most are darker than the lions of neighbouring lands.
The BushLands:
Pride Name: N/A
The BushLands are of a terrain that the name states. It is mostly brush and dry though there are few areas of greenery. There is no monarchy here; it is mainly a land of rogues that live in semi-peace. There are fights yes but mostly it is a peaceful land and the lions are of all colours due to the many rogues that inhabit the area.
The VineLands:
Pride Name: N/A
The VineLands are more commonly known simply as the Jungle. It is an area of dense trees, vines and plants. Little to no prey lives here, merely bugs, birds and a few monkeys. In the times of old dark pelted lions lived here but due to the lack of prey, died out during Mohatu’s reign. No one lives there until Timon and Pumbaa discover it, bringing Simba back to live with them and once they leave it is left uninhabited, only the birds and the bugs remain.
The WestLands:
Pride Name: The WestLanders
The WestLands are of a similar terrain to The PrideLands, only less lush and with more brush, a greener version of the BushLands. The WestLands are known by the name simply due to the creativity of the first King that ruled there. At the time of the Kingdom’s birth it was the most Westerly lion Kingdom in Africa but generations later The WoodLands came into being and it now shares its border with it. In ancient times the lions of The GhostLands had a civil war and the losing party were banished from the lands, they settled and created The WestLands. Now the lions here after generations of outside breeding have become grey pelted with black and red manes. The WestLands are the only Kingdom to have this mix of colours. The WestLands are cut off from the other Kingdoms and the lions there mainly keep to themselves, the only Kingdom they really come into contact with is The WoodLands and that is only because they share a border with them. The BushLands’ rogues also keep to themselves. During Mufasa’s reign Kuvunja takes over the throne and gives birth to five sons, one of which is evil himself and when the crown prince is exiled from the lands Mautiyenyewe takes up the throne. He murders innocents and terror rules the land. His rage is seemingly never ending and the lions of The WestLands pray to the Kings of The Past for a saviour.
The WoodLands:
Pride Name: The Dark Pride
The WoodLands is as its name suggests; a Kingdom made up of trees and bushes, the lions here are of dark pelts, some almost black. They border the WestLands to the South but other than that no Kingdom borders them. Also females rule, males are considered lesser beings and are treated as such but not to the extent of deliberate torture. They beat the males but only if needed, for example if a male disobeys an order he will be beaten and taught to think before doubting his superiors. The WoodLands’ lions prefer to keep to themselves and rarely include themselves in the politics of the other Kingdoms, they also do not accept Betrothals nor do they offer them. They believe that their own blood must be kept pure and true to The WoodLands line.
The GhostLands:
Pride Name: The Ghost Pride
The GhostLands are a Kingdom of pureness, its water is crystal clear, the grasses the greenest and the lions; the palest. The lions here are pure white, some are the lightest shades of grey but almost all are pure white. It is a phenomenon known only to these lands and that is why it is the greatest kept secret in Africa. The other Kingdoms are aware of the land but to them it is known as The SavannahLands. This is because if they knew they would surely raid the land and take the pure whites into their own prides. Before the time of Mohatu, three generations before to be exact was when the other Kingdoms knew of The GhostLands; it was a time of terror and suffering for the white. It started as bargains for the lions, then battles and eventually a war broke out, simply so other prides could obtain some precious white blood. The hyenas took this chance to try and over throw the PrideLands King as well. The white lions faked the slaughtering of their kind from the lions of The Land Of Blood, and since then have used them to protect them. The only lions that know of the whites are those in The Land Of Blood, and The GuardLands. Warriors who are trained from young cubs to protect the lions of The GhostLands with their lives; no one can know of the white lions, no one. The monarchy is the same as the surrounding Kingdoms however when the next king comes into succession his mane is dyed black by a strange clay-like substance that is found solely on the banks of The GhostLands’ river. If the next in line for the throne is female she must dye her tail tuft and a single stripe down her forehead and back.
The Land Of Blood:
Pride Name: The Blood Warriors
The lions in the Land Of Blood are killers, trained to protect The GhostLands against those who wander too close to the borders or who wish to seek out the rumoured spirits that inhabit the lands- they are of course The GhostLands’ lions themselves. The Land Of Blood has a pseudo ‘King’ who rules the Blood Warriors and leads the attacks. He is of the highest rank and no one can rival his power, the heir to the ‘throne’ is chosen by the King himself- sometimes it is his son (or occasionally daughter) others it is whoever the King deems fit to rule. Whoever it is they must constantly lord over the other lions and prove themselves worthy otherwise another young male of the Pride may try to overthrow the ruler and a long and bloody battle ensues. The lions here are mostly of darker hues with little-to-no exceptions, this is due to The GhostLands’ lions’ paranoia of being discovered. They are ruthless and blood-thirsty, those who cross into The Land Of Blood rarely ever come back out.
The GuardLands:
Pride Name: The Assassins
The GuardLands are three different small pockets of land. The terrain is the same as The GhostLands because in reality the land of part of the Ghost Kingdom. The first GuardLands is situated to the North, the second to the East and the third to the South. The Western border is protected by the lions of The Land Of Blood. All lions in the GuardLands originated from the Land Of Blood and when numbers are low warriors are transported from the larger Land Of Blood and to The GuardLands in need of more warriors. The lions here are dark pelted and no pale lions are to be seen, this is because the lions of The GhostLands are wary that if even a slightly pale lion is seen the Kingdoms will suspect that they did not die out in the war.
Oasis:
Pride Name: N/A
The oasis is a small pocket of land that is lush in comparison to the surrounding dessert. It consists of lush grasses, a small freshwater lake and some trees. There is also a rather large hill which is the main defining feature of the land. It is also technically part of The Land of Blood so those who stay here must be wary of the Warriors- the oasis provides sanctuary for weary lions who seek to rest and rejuvenate themselves.
Grass Walls:
Pride Name: N/A
Grass Walls is the home of the Mandrill Shamans and here they teach the young chimps the art of healing and how to access their mystical powers given to the Mandrill by the Gods. It is a peaceful place with next-to-no fighting and there is rarely a quarrel in this holy land.
