●HISTORY
Born as an only child to two overworked parents; Mel grew up in the heart of Paris, France. While it seemed like a romantic upbringing, it was nothing short of harsh.
Schooling was strict, and Melisandre was largely left to her own devices. As a child this only served to close her off. Primarily demon-free she had little contact with the predator dangers
of the world, her own universe a shoe-box. She really only knew school, and home, and as she grew it only really expanded to University, and her part time job at the local library.
Her life took a turn when she returned home one night to her mother; hunched over her father. A blackened gemstone in the center of her chest, that radiated necrotic energy. Her mother; after enduring years of abuse in the workplace had finally snapped, and the result was a brief and explosive transformation. Her shard had corrupted. With bestial claws she renders her life-long sweet-heart into bloody-nothing. Seeing such a shock had it's own effects on Melisandre. Her own shard, dull and dormant awakened.
In a clumsy fight, Mel let forth her power. To her surprise, the first element to bend to her touch was not earth, but metal. Knives and cutlery from every drawer drew at her command. And She impaled her once-mothers form. Not so easily killed; the demoness continued her assault destroying their life long home. Mel withdrew to her own room, barricading the door. It wasn't to last however. In heartbeats it was pounded down to splinters, and n desperation Melisandre covered her eyes. Terror filled ever aspect of her mind, and when nothing came she slowly opened them.
The metallic supports of the house had come through; driving themselves deep into her former mothers form. Trapping her in an array of metallic spines.
She was dead.
After such an altercation Mel's life changed. After calling the authorities, she was cut from the apartment so badly damaged she had to be slowly sawed out.
When word got around she had manipulated metal; she was immediately offered a scholarship at Eighford Academy.
Here she put her mind to her trade, conquering metal manipulation, earth manipulation and moving on to water. She was a prodigy; and slowly began to open up with her new found talents.
Never again would she let someone fall into a situation such as hers.
