Description
I've recently moved to an area that has wild red-eared sliders ^^ A close friend of mine used to have one as a pet, and it was so surreal seeing one wading in a nearby pond. Anyways, it seemed like a good excuse to work with watercolors againRelated content

Thanks! And sliders are luckily not snapping turtles (the bite force on those guys is insane), but they do have long nails!
The nails help them dig and offer a firmer grip if they need to steady themselves underwater, but they can also deliver a powerful scratch. I wish that guy was more thankful to you xD

Thanks! For the longest time I've been a fan of early children's book illustrations, and watercolors have turned out to be a great medium to draw inspiration from that classic tone... plus they dry a lot faster than other paints xD

For sure, totally has that feel to it Β
(I'm still too impatient with even watercolours haha. Can't imagine trying oils)
