Description
A triptych of the Three Legendary beasts of johto.
Watercolor and Ink on Bristol

Suicune is based off of the sand statues
of various egyptian deities,
as it is featured prominently throughout the series
above the other 2.

Entei is based off of the Shisa Statues
that Litter the Island of Okinawa.
They are said to be guardians fo the house,
and from the action of Entei in the movie,
He is very much so the persona of a Guardian.

Raikou is based off of the giant white stone tiger statues,
that sit overlooking tiger beach park in china.

The inspiration for this came thinking about
how legends in our culture are solidified into relics
that push the myth into reality.
In the first generation, rhydon statues were found everywhere,
and i liked the narrative of that.
