In other words Lauren said one thing and many an "pseudo activist" minded artists took it as a blatant dogwhistle that she was indicating something completely different as opposed to what she actually said.
If by representation you mean another piece to toss onto twitter or some other place where such fantastical beliefs would be upheld on a pedestal of righteousness ironically more so than most other beliefs then sure "representation" although oversaturated imo. Right alongside Pedo's and all the other funny makeshift banners and sloganeering I see for people to prop into their bios now a days for validation...

Comparing the LGBT community to pedophiles is entirely uncalled for. Especially if your only gripe is having pride flags. By your logic, no flags should have any meaning ever, because they're all colorful pieces of cloth. How would you feel if I demeaned the Australian flag to spite you? It'd be really unwarranted, wouldn't it? Just like you can be proud of your Australian flag, the LGBT community can be proud of their flags. Or they're both "meaningless", but you don't get to pick and choose.
The LGBT community has been advocating for acceptance CENTURIES before Twitter existed, as opposed to MAPs. If you don't know that you're a complete idiot. People in the LGBT community have done their best to denounce pedophiles and gatekeep them from the community, even on the wokest corners of Tumblr. If Twitter the Hellsite doesn't want to condemn them, that's far from trans people's fault. I'd love to know how is this in any way relevant to the art.
