No you're not doing anything wrong probably. Just bad luck.
You may try finishing off your Pokedex and getting the shiny charm from Sycamore it'll up your chance of getting shinies by %300.

i got a shiny fennekin the day i got my 3ds and pokemon x version. i got it as my starter i was lucky that day getting a shiny starter on your first try is not that often

I just hatched a shiny Charmander at 474 eggs. I hatch my eggs in batches of 25 and before I hatched the batch with a shiny in it I traveled to 3 cafes and gave them all 1,000 dollar tips. Maybe the tipping works after all.

well getting a shiny fennekin yes but now with the pokeradar in the game it will tell you the location of pokemon and specificly shiny pokemon.

I think I'm missing a step to this formula. LIKE THE ONE WHERE I GET THE SHINY DX 500ish Kabuto eggs TT~TT (completely lost track around 450 so now its just estimating.) But yeah great drawing and congrats on not being forsaken by Masuda!

Well you can reset before choosing it in the beginning till it's shiny but the odds are much higher if you MM breed for them.

did you use two fennekins to breed for it or? Im just trying to make sure Im doing this right gotta make sure I succeed !

No I actually used a Japanese region Ditto and an American (my region) Fennekin. Though using a male and female Fenn would be fine so long as they are from different regions cause your chances of encountering a shiny through breeding are waaaay higher if you use two form different regions
I've also heard tipping the NPCs can help your chances of encountering shinies although I don't think it's been confirmed %100 yet.

OK Im using a jap fennekin and my american one. I tried with a jap ditto and got nothing. it's been a long time I even have a friend whos been trying he's gotten over 2000 eggs all of which werent shiny
