Description
I hope it helps someone! ;v; I don't have any secret steps, I just work on the picture and shade it as I go! I like using layers set to soft color once in a while to correct colors too ;v;finished drawing:Β Β

Could you tell us a little about the brushes and settings you use them at?

Do you change the opacity of your lineart when you set it to multiply? Or, does the situation just seem to sort itself out? (Hope you know what I'm trying to imply.)

Hi there! c:
Instead of changing the opacity of my lineart, I make a layer on top of it and set it to "soft light" and then add a little bright and warm color on top of the lineart, making it lighter and more subtle ^^ But after a while I just delete the lineart since I paint on top of it anyways

You did it in the same layer at step 3?!Β

step one is a layer, step 2 and 3 stay at the same time in a layer under the linear ;v;

You're one of the few people I know that actually starts dark and then manually paints the entire piece!Β Everyone else does the multiply/overlay/moosh thing, so this is SUPER interesting! I also really like how much attention you give to keeping the values consistent! LOVE it!

AAAHHDFDjjf I'm glad you liked this little tutorial!! The grayscale part is really helpful, sometimes we can mistake saturated colors for bright ones so when we turn the black layer on we see the drawing is mostly black and the picture is really saturated XD I do that a lot OTL

Oh gosh, this is incredibly helpful! I always wondered how you actually shaded things, and had an inkling of an idea that you used a layer on multiply to colour beneath, but colouring on top afterwards is genius! I would love to try this style of colouring on something because it is so gorgeous. <3 You are a master, dear girl. A master! Β

I'm glad it helped!!! I usually put a little texture at the end and then I color ON TOP of it again XD I can't work on many layers, so I just merge everything and go with the flow
