Clovis Dye:
This here is the first page of Work-Study to be produced by Jeff that had been scripted with the knowledge that it would be him drawing it, all the pages before this came from scripts I had originaly assumed I'd be drawing when I first wrote them. As you might guess from the comic here, I've recently been playing Professor Layton and the Curious Village; and, if you guessed that, you would be correct. In fact, I recently finished the game; it was a brilliant game and I adored every last second of it. I desperately hope Nintendo brings out to the US all of the sequels that Level-5 have made, but so far they don't seem very interested in doing that. Still, despite my massive love for the game, as this comic will attest to: the game doesn't always love you back.
Jeff Gant:
This was an interesting page to draw since I generally dont draw video game characters, but I'm fairly happy with how the Professor turned out (I think I even got his shading pretty close to the official artwork). The DS wasnt too tough to draw, but there were a surprising amount of little details on it.

LOL, this is too hilarious! Although the professor is too much of a gentleman to do this. Still, it was a fun watchΒ Β

You know what could work even better? The professor having tea with Luke and looking bored while waiting for you to finally get the answer. That would be more in character, and another fun watchΒ Β

Nope, not currently! He was quite the gentleman at first, but Clovis eventually ground his patience out to a thin paste.

Oh man! This is so funny! X3
I have the same trouble, I do alright for someone who hasn't done puzzles before this game but once I get stuck it looks as if I stay stuck!
Luckly he hasn't gotten angry with me.

What often gets me is when there's a clever trick to the wording of the question, either by design or a quirk of the translation.

I'll say. And by the way, perfect timing; I just bought "Professor Layton & the Diabolical Box" today. I can't freakin' play it yet though; I won't be able to lay my hands on that new DSi until Christmas. But, some things are worth waiting for.

Update: I LOVE IT! I even spent some of my Christmas money on "The Curious Village". Both games are unbelievably awesome. I would NEVER have thought that I wouldn't be able to put down a puzzle game.

Yes, the Professor Layton games are indeed a truly magnificent breed! Furthermore, the first of the Professor Layton movies is going to brought to the US later this year!

Usually speaking, I do pretty well with Layton's puzzles. However, when I get stuck... I tend to get HORRIBLY stuck (such as with a certain clock puzzle about counting multiples of three). When you hear Layton apologize for his answer, it just makes you feel like you should be ashamed of yourself for the fact he said that (especially when you have to hear it over and over again).
