Description Okay, so they're not exactly 100% pure chibis, but I did this drawing of the characters in Elisa Sutinen's comic book ( ) "Religious City" as my little birthday gift to this young woman of extreme talent.

Essentially, I drew them as little kids, along the lines of my "Little Silent Hill" and "Little Resident Evil" drawings.

Happy birthday, Sutinen! And keep up the fantastic work on your comic book series.

I'm not sure but the chibis are dressed in 'steampunk' clothes, do you know steampunk?

But what I want to say: it's a wonderful birthday present, imho your drawing looks very professional.

I am aware of "Steampunk", a very cool genre. The clothing in this illustration is not of my own design but that of the mega-talented Sutinen.

Thank you so much for the compliment.

Thank you, although I feel Sutinen deserves most of the credit, for the costumes and the characters.

Thanks! Elisa's artwork is astonishing. It was really difficult for me to draw her characters, because she puts so much detail into her work, and her linework is so delicate.

Nonetheless, it was a pleasure to do the drawing.

I'm not a big fan of chibi stuff, either. The impression I've always got was that anime studios employed chibis in the past to save money on animation and drawing, and it sort of entered the vernacular from there on.

Thanks for the compliments. Of course, I've drawn Sutinen's characters before, so I had to figure out what I was going to do for a gift. I'm not that familiar with Hellsing, so I couldn't really draw those characters that Elisa loves so dearly. And Elisa's already drawn younger versions of her Judas family characters. So, I thought of doing really, really young versions of her characters.

Oh my fricking god and eyes! ItΒ΄s such a beautiful and lovely present! I love it, and I donΒ΄t have enough ways to thank you.
TheyΒ΄re not too chibi-like (because chibis are usually very simple and overly cute), you really made them cute in a freaky kind of way wich is the best to my opinion. TheyΒ΄re like little children that have got their hands onto their motherΒ΄s makeups!
Alma looks just herself, and you have added such great shoes on her. Most pretty! Judas is all child-like wich is great, because itΒ΄s hard to even imagine him having been a little kid once. The positions of the arms looks very natural and the hands so delicate. So very detailed work with the clothes. And Aramis! HeΒ΄s so adorable and girly! You did a great job with his insane expression, but actually turned it very excited and pretty. Those bunny slippers just kill me with their randomness! Love the whole piece. I try to find a way to pay this amazing present back dear.

Well, maybe, then, my drawing is comprised of 10% chibis. I created the title because I wanted to play off the name of your comic in some way involving child-like versions of your characters, and "Chibi" was the closest thing I come up with.

Nonetheless, I'm so excited you liked the gift. Your artwork I admire considerably, you're a very nice and interesting person that I have the privilege to know, so I wanted to mark your birthday in a meaningful manner.

Like my drawing of the Judas Family Picnic, drawing your characters was an enormous challenge, because of the enormous amount of detail you put into your pieces. It's never ugly detail, or too much detail. The detail in your drawings are very delicate and seem like they belong there.

Keep up the great work.

Oh I understood your meaning perfectky.

ThatΒ΄s the best and most chariced compliment I can ever get Zac! My appreciation for you canΒ΄t be count in numbers.

The detail comes so natural for me, so IΒ΄m glad that they look fitting for the pics I do.

I will! ^^

and I are at my place on my computer and she's halfway ready to burst to tears of happiness. She'll post her very own comment soon, I suppose. Frankly, she's speechless.

I love this, it's cute, a perfect present and a nice tribute to a few lovely characters. The way you draw these is LOVE.

Thanks, and I'm absolutely happy that Sutinen liked the drawing. Her prowess as an artist is astonishing, so drawing her characters is no easy task. The sophistication of the detail on her characters is amazing. Some of them were so fine, I couldn't reproduce them.

I've seen her development as an artist from when she was really young.. about 10 or 11.. that's when we became friends. I started a lot later, at 14 or 15, I'm not quite sure. I even had some of her really, really old stuff at home but then she ordered me to destroy them.

I've always kept my older drawings, so I can see how far I've developed as an artist. Of course, when I see them, I wince and the urge to destroy them is almost overwhelming for me, too.

I've completely destroyed the existence of my old ones which is a shame, I've stopped doing it now. Sutinen has been a bit braver, she keeps tons of oldies in her room. I've seen them all and each time we take a peek at them, we laugh ourselves to tears.

I wanna snuggle the one to the left!!! I love how the one in the middle steps out of the border--defiant! The one on the far right, one of her eyes seem abit bigger than the other, but then again, could be my imagination(or lack of). <3 great.
