Description This is a commission I did of a bar scene where characters from the Vertigo comic series "The Preacher" hang out in a bar with the main character from the Vertigo comic series "Transmetropolitan" (the former story written by the inimitable Garth Ennis and the latter by Warren Ellis*). From left to right, we have Cassidy, Jesse Custer, and Tulip (all three characters in "The Preacher") and, at the end of the bar, Spider Jerusalem ("Transmetropolitan"). Spider is telling a raunchy story to the bar's inhabitants, much to the amusement of Jesse and Cassidy (Tulip, however, is none too pleased).

I love drawing commissions like this but, alas, don't get too many along these lines.

*EDIT: Originally, I stated that both "Preacher" and "Transmetropolitan" were written by Ennis but several commenters set me right, stating that Ennis wrote one comic and Warren Ellis the other. I've since corrected the error. Thanks for the correction, folks.

Thanks for the comment, Zsuns! These characters are from Warren Ellis/Garth Ennis stories, where everybody smokes.

Thanks, Evil Twin! I would actually prefer Jolie on a pile of hundred dollar bills.

Oh. My. Fvcking. Ghod.

Holy shit, Zac. Ho-leeee shit!

You have absolutely blown my expectations out of the troposphere with this. This is beyond brilliant and you not only plucked the scene right out of my head, you also added so much cool stuff to it I'm flabbergasted.

This was totally worth the wait, my man.

The rat, I love the rat!!!

If only Proposition 8 hadn't passed, and I wasn't married, I'd marry you.

Thanks, Dalgoda! That's high praise, indeed, coming from the likes of you. I'm not a fellow who has a lot of confidence in his work, but seeing your satisfaction with my work put me on cloud nine.

I can't express enough my appreciation for commissioning me to draw this piece. I love the Vertigo style of comics and attempting to draw in that vein was a delightful challenge.

I'm grateful for the commission!
