Thank you so much!Β  A little tip of the pen to Carl Barks.Β  What do you think of the rest of the sequence so far?

VeryZenn In reply to cluedog [2014-03-17 17:07:13 +0000 UTC]

I think that if this was how the Walking Dead was handled I might still be watching it. Β  Β I liked the Comic well enough (though I really can't stand most zombie stories) but the Grimes in the comic and the Grimes in the show are so different they may as well just be different characters. Β I was willing to accept changes to the story as comics tell stories in a different way than cinema but when they provided a scientific answer for zombies at the end of the first season AND it didn't stand up to even the most cursory of examination based on easily available evidence, they lost me.

Now I can understand that Kirkman didn't want to just retell the comic but I REALLY wish that instead of telling a sort of lame version of the comic he had instead made the show about a completely different group of survivors. Β That way Grimes doesn't have to suddenly be stupid for the show to work and if you want a bloated cast maybe it wont be quite so obvious that the other people are just there to be eaten. Β The other cool thing about this would be that they could have the people in the show start in Denver or New York or whatever and eventually have them heading South toward Atlanta (maybe because of the CDC) only to have them run across things that happened in the comic but after the other group had already been there.

Anyway. Β Keep up the good work! Β

Thank you for expressing your opinion about my work, the show, and the comic.Β  I'm still on the third season of the show but haven't read the comic.Β  I was wondering how the two stacked against each other.Β

It makes more sense in the comic that these people survive. Β The group is smaller and seemingly more aware of the fact that they now live in a horror movie. Β

The Times? What happened to The Atlanta Dead Trees? I guess there would be different newspapers, but still. Also, is that a description of a Garfield comic in the left part?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

cluedog In reply to Saklad [2014-03-14 10:21:18 +0000 UTC]

I figured this would be a different newspaper, as Rick...er, Duck Grimes comes from a small town as opposed to Atlanta.Β  The news article on the left was just something that popped into my head and was not meant to refer to any characters, although it could apply to the "Garfield" comic strip, now that you mention it.
