SO proud of this.One of the first times I've actually sat down and tried to make a good background and I think it paid off.
My headcanon of this is either it is the first sunrise Celestia has ever done, or Luna has come back after a thousand years and she's so happy that she makes it the most beautiful she has in a long time.
I really hope you like it as much as I do. :3

Wow what a great job here! Celestia's pose and shading is very interesting not to mention difficult, I would love to see you attempt more of that shading in other works in the future whether it is pony related or not. Also another facet of this piece I want to focus on is the negative space, and how the coloring and different values of the colors work well together. The sun is a great example of this, not only does it reflect Celestia, but the rays moving from the sun lose intensity but gain a large magnitude of colors. Which I thought was well done! I really like the way in which you painted the earth, very interesting technique, however I feel that more clouds would be better, just an opinion. Finally I want to say that the composition of this piece is so well done that I am surprised how simple it is considering the complex color scheme of the painting, Celestia is the focus of the painting but because of the positioning of the sun it leads the viewer to seeing all the other interesting looking colors in the piece. Again keep up the great work! I cannot wait to see more from you!

All jokes aside though, this was really nicely done! I really like the background- especially how the background sort of has this wavey thing that has the same colours as her mane. The wings are also good, I need to find a style to use for wings xD But I just sort of find it distracting how the background and Celestia can be so different since Celestia has, y'know, the thick lines and coloured ones at that.

Yeah, I see what you mean. I realized that too when I was drawing her, but I still wanted to see a large contrast between her and the background so I didn't lose her in it. It was a difficult combination. Ah well, something to practice for next time.
