So I probably have no chance of winning since there are so many fantastic entries already but I figure a slim chance is better than none at all! This is my entry for the DTA Foxfan contest hosted at for this little cutie here.

If I had the opportunity to adopt her I would name her Sakura or "Saki" for short after the Japanese name for cherry blossoms. Since she is a cherry foxfan, I figured it fits pretty well and I've always loved that name.

Saki is a very quiet girl who always takes joy in the simple things in life. She likes to spend her time outdoors in small bursts. Typically, foxfans don't like to venture out in the sun too often because it hurts their little eyes. Saki is no different, but her love of nature can't be stopped! After exploring for a while, her favorite thing to do is curl under a shady cherry tree and take a nap.

She takes pride in caring for budding cherry trees - she even uses a small watering can to do it! When the cherries ripen, she will hop into the cherry trees and drop the fruit into a little basket. She enjoys eating the fruit of her labor every year from the cherry trees she grows and her greatest joy is sharing them with all of her foxfan friends.

Bugs fascinate her. She can sometimes be found following after a line of ants who try to carry away her precious cherries that fall from the trees. Though sometimes she will let them have some, if they take too many she lets out an adorable yip to scare them off.

If you give Saki something sweet, she will forever be your friend. She will remember your kindness and give you something sweet in return! A very giving foxfan, she loves to see her friends smile.

There is another thing that Saki can't get enough of - water! On a sunny day, she loves to jump in a cool lake and swim around, making sure to keep her tailfan high above her so it doesn't get wet. She LOVES baths and getting clean, and when she gets brushed you're hardpressed to find a happier foxfan. She is somewhat of a girly girl and although she doesn't mind getting her paws dirty, getting washed is double the fun! Her big pink striped bow is her favorite accessory and she never leaves home without it.

Though she's a relatively happy-go-lucky foxfan, there are some things she doesn't much care for. Loud noises are at the top of the list. She doesn't mind watching the beautiful colors of fireworks from afar, but will stay a far enough distance away from the noise. She hates being frightened. The fastest way to anger her or cause her to dislike you is to frighten her. When someone sneaks up from behind her or jumps out at her, she jumps and will dash off to a high place and yip at them until she calms down.

Thunderstorms bring rain which excites her, but the thunder that comes with it does not. She will often take shelter from the rain and watch through a window rather than hanging around outside in the thick of it. The moment the storm stops, however, she will dash out just to play in the puddles!

Saki doesn't much care for bitter things and will turn her nose in disgust at bitter roots and herbs. She also doesn't much care for the dark and prefers to stay where there is light. Remember how bugs fascinate her? She thinks fireflies are simply magical since they can light up the darkness!
