I love hummers, and have a few here but this is the best I could do so far [link]
10 feet away from me with a telephoto lens and I STILL had to crop it in to bring in the details. Pathetic.

I'm thinking of building a little "blind" or something to trick these little devils.
Checklist for photographing elusing critters:
1.)all-inclusive toilet break
2.) No-Doz
3.) empty memory card (important! been there done that)
4.) fully recharged battery (EQUALLY important!)
5.) Sh*tload of patience
6.) comfortable clothing and weather
7.) great luck
8.) six pack of beer (optional)
9.) snacks to nom silently

thats an amazing photo. i've sat at one of those feeders for a few hours and i got nothing but blury pics. i'll have to use a different lense next time i guess...one that catches closer and smaller stuff
