"Thanks, that feels better already," Raven says, tenderly placing the ice on her freshly bandaged left ankle. I see her wince slightly as she places it, which tells me it probably doesn't feel that much better. It has been less than a month since her casts have been removed, but she already has sprained both ankles and done some pretty good damage to her toes again.

"Any chance you broke anything?"

"No, at least not in the ankles.. my two toes.. well probably", she says. The trouble is, she has been in casts so long and for so many reasons that her ankles are just giving out randomly on her now. I mean the poor girl has twisted both a half a dozen times just walking around. And tripping and bailing led to smashing feet into furniture..

"Are you absolutely sure? That last bail I heard the smash of your foot into the table from the next room over. The scream that followed was almost quieter!" I get a scowl for that one

"No, I know what a broken ankle feels like by now! This is a bad sprain. Besides, most of what you heard was my toe smashing as I fell. Like it said already.. it is probably broken! The bigger question is, can I still walk?"

"I think you mean, should you still walk?", I think on that for a second and then realize that if Raven is able to balance on two feet, she will almost definitely use them. "Let me rephrase. I'll get the crutches"
