Gizoid Archives - Reverie, the Reality Weaver,Model: NG-221003Elite Rank: Elite-G3-RED, Red Chaos EmeraldCodename: Reverie“Human” Alias: RubyTitle: Reality WeaverFavored Skill: Phantom Ruby virtual reality, form creation and illusionWeapons: Dual Whip-SwordsCharacter ConceptSo, to start, I should stress, this Gizoid is based around the Phantom Ruby, not Infinite. I know that Infinite is associated with the Phantom Ruby, but the Ruby is its own separate entity, that was introduced in Sonic Mania, which Infinite is not associated with.I think this concept was based on Infinite originally, like as one of my Gizoid Imitators. But over time, I thought the idea of drawing a Sonic character as a Sonic robot is... kind of pointless (besides my recent “Surpeme + Sage” Imitator from Frontiers). And eventually, I started to come up with this new design. And you know, the Phantom Ruby, which can create anything, and a Gizoid, which can do anything. Kind of a powerful combination, wouldn’t you think? This design also had inspirations from some Hyperdimension characters, namely Iris Heart and Kurome Ankokuboshi. Now, these two characters have nothing to do with each other, aside from being part of the same game series, but they were both used to make this design. She also has a sadistic personality, partially based a lot on Azula from The Last Airbender.Reverie’s DesignReverie is a red, feminine Gizoid, with the Phantom Ruby (the virtual-reality-creating gem from Sonic Mania and Forces), a red gem with purple stripes. Her forehead horns are shaped like an upside-down Greek-Pi symbol, and she has a set of more flat, sideways horns on the back of her head, both outside dual braided cables that dangle down as decoration, like twin braids. The ends of these cords have hexagonal metal pieces with red gems embedded on the ends. Her eyes glow purple by default, and are surrounded by purple markings, lines over her eyes outlined with small triangles, similar to eyelashes. She also has many purple stripes around her body, much like the Phantom Ruby itself. She also has red gems on her hands, and purple gems on her knees.Ruby Form:,Using the Phantom Ruby’s reality-warping abilities, Reverie created for herself a “human disguise”, under the name of Ruby. In this form, she takes the form of a short human woman. The Phantom Ruby typically remains on her chest, but she can hide it if she wishes. She has ruby-red hair with purple stripes. This front of her hair takes the form of her front horns in her normal Gizoid form, framed around her unchanged Gizoid’s third eye. Her hair is short on the front, but around the back, it is styled into two messy buns, both with long braids hanging out of them, overlaying the braided cables in her normal form. Also, the triangle markings remain over her now human, purple eyes. Her outfit has the same red color with purple stripes, like her normal Gizoid body. This outfit is comprised of a short-sleeved shirt revealing her mid-riff, detached sleeves with black gloves, each embedded with a red gem (overlaying her normally gauntlet-like forearms), and a short black skirt with red and purple triangle patterns hem over black tights with purple rimmed open diamond shapes (much like Ghirahim’s tights from Skyward Sword). Her normal mechanical feet, including her lower legs up to her knees, are restyled into boots, with black backs and feet.Reverie’s Weapons and Combat Style,Reverie wields a pair of whip swords, matching the styles of her form, with straight-edged design, and shredding serration-tips on the edge of each segment of blades, the blade edges themselves a ruby-red color. The range and flexibility of her whip swords make it difficult to approach Reverie, due to the chaos of the swinging blades. Reverie fights like a ribbon dancer, using her blades to slice through everything around her.Between the blades, and the Phantom Ruby, Reverie likes to play mind games with her opponents, satisfying her sadistic needs.Reverie’s Favored SkillsIronically, Reverie rarely relies on Skills. With the power of the Phantom Ruby, Reverie can create virtual reality, messing with people’s perceptions and warping reality. She can create anything she wants, at a moment's notice, even forms of attack. And she can create some devastatingly powerful attacks. She can create anything in her imagination, and this can exceed the limitations of Gizoid. She doesn’t really need to capture Skills, because she can create any attack she needs. The Phantom Ruby even grants teleportation and portal forming, simple levitation, and even reading the thoughts of one’s subconscious. The only limitation is the bigger or more complex a creation is, the more energy it takes. The Phantom Ruby is constantly absorbing energy, so Reverie, in keeping with the bond she has with the gem, uses the energy she absorbs as a Gizoid to feed the Phantom Ruby, and give it the power it needs to warp reality.Because of the Phantom Ruby, Reverie hardly needs to rely on the Skills she Captures. She still uses them, but unlike other Gizoids, she doesn’t worry about trying to create refined and effective Skill Configurations, but just throws in whatever looks good, with a few simple favorites. And some of her Phantom Ruby powers are treated as Skills, for simplicity’s sake.Ruby Form:As explained above, Reverie can use the Phantom Ruby’s virtual reality to take on human form, that of a short woman with the name “Ruby”. Because it’s an illusion, it doesn't affect her abilities, but she does seem, in all senses, fully human.Phantom Blink:The Phantom Ruby’s teleportation ability, categorized as a Skill for convenience.Phantom Telekinesis:The Phantom Ruby’s ability to shift gravity, which can be used for hovering flight, or weaken gravity and cause others to fly off the ground, with no gravity to hold you down.Reach into the Subconscious:Not necessarily a Skill, Reverie, upon touching someone, can see the thoughts they have, primarily their deepest desires and fears. This is useful for determining what Reverie will create with the Phantom Ruby.Pyrokinesis:Simple fire manipulation, that Ruby keeps for extra power. Unlike many other Gizoids, it is not a refined set of Skills, but she can use flames to empower her blades, or launch fire blasts.Electrokinesis:Simple lighting manipulation, it is the same as her Pyrokinesis, an unrefined set of Skills, which she can use to empower her blades or unleash lightning blasts.Phantom Storm:Reverie will use the Phantom Ruby’s power to unleash a storm of small red cubes to tear through her enemies. (This is like the last scene of Infinite’s reveal trailer.)Dragon’s Roar:Dragon skulls made out of the Phantom Ruby’s power, which can float around Reverie, and fire focuses beams of the Ruby’s power. (Yes, this is Reverie’s version of Sans’s Gaster Blasters. Not super original, but a good use of the Ruby’s virtual reality powers.)Null Space:Originally created by the infamous Infinite, Reverie will create a dark portal that can pull others into, a very strong pull at that, and send them into Null Space, a dimensional pocket-space of nothing that can be used as a prison, for a time at least.----- ----- ----- ----- ----- -----Author’s Note: Okay... so, I think I need to bring up the Phantom Ruby’s workings. It has never been clear how the Ruby’s powers work, and the game doesn’t give the best explanation.“A weapon that takes control of people's visual and depth perception to feed false information to the brain, creating a new reality for them. Like a dream so real, if you bump yourself in it, your sleeping self will bruise? It's hard to believe.” That’s what Tails says about it.But that doesn’t explain how this false reality can interact with actual reality, and how they have mass. Not to mention how it can read the subconscious of its wielders and grant teleportation, open portals, alter gravity, or warp time (that last detail coming from the last battle between Super Sonic, Phantom King, and Eggman in Sonic Mania, where the timer is all out of whack).Well, I’ve looked and some of the animations related to the Ruby, and noticed something with Infinite’s fake characters. When defeated, they typically fade away, but in the Phantom Metal Sonic fight, when you defeat him, he breaks apart into small red cubes, probably due to the force of the Double Boost you finish him off with. And these tiny red cubes, by the way, are the same ones you see in every use of the Phantom Ruby, in Sonic Forces at least.Based on this, I think they described the Ruby’s power correctly, it’s just that they left out key information needed to give the full understanding of how it works. It feeds false images to your brain, but those red cubes give them mass. The little cubes can even give other properties, as needed for the illusion. The other abilities are just there to either further assist in the virtual reality, or it is just an extra power, like teleportation. After all, even Chaos Control has several extra powers, like Chaos Spear and Chaos Blast. And the subconscious-reading part seems key to the Ruby's abilities, given it showed what both Eggman and Infinite wanted most when it was first discovered in the Modern Sonic world. It creates peoples desires, or their fears, by look into their hearts. Makes sense to me.Also, I do believe that the Phantom Ruby draws power from other sources. It would explain how and why Eggman needed generators to power the Ruby, and would also show that the Phantom Ruby doesn’t cause a negative reaction with the Chaos Emeralds, but rather pulls and steals their power. This is still enough to explain how the Ruby weakened Super Sonic enough that Knuckles could punch him out of the Super form.Story and CharacterReverie has always been a challenging Gizoid. She follows orders, but only just. She can never be left out of eyesight, and even Argetnum, the one other untrustworthy Gizoid Elite, dislikes her.Reverie has been found to be sadistic and manipulative, as well as greedy for power. At any chance she could, the red Gizoid would torture her enemies, for no other reason than her own enjoyment. But it was difficult to challenge her, once she found and fixed the fabled Phantom Ruby. With its power, she could further mess with people's minds. She even began to use the virtual reality powers to give herself a human form, aptly named Ruby, that she would take on from time to time, to lead humans on, and bring them under her thumb.By all means, Reverie should’ve been decommissioned. Instead, she quickly found herself to be selected as an Elite Gizoid, being given the red Chaos Emerald (naturally). It was said it was because of her great power, but Chrome, the Elite’s leader, believes that it was because Reverie must’ve manipulated her way into the position. He didn’t know the means, but that was the least of his troubles with Reverie.Just because she was an Elite, doesn’t mean the watchful eyes on Reverie relented. If anything, she was kept under watch even more. ...And she did not like this. She tried egging on her fellow Gizoids in retaliation. And while most of them, even Chrome, were at the very least annoyed by this, there was one Gizoid who never bend to her will: [REDACTED].Much later, when [REDACTED] became the last Elite to be selected, despite not having a title yet, Reverie confronted him. When she asked why he ignored her, he simply replied, “because I find you interesting, and strong. I don’t think, in the end, you’ll bow down to our... oppressors.”And this left Reveire amused as to what he might be thinking. At World’s End:When Kronos finally appeared, and invited the Elites to fight him on the Little Planet, Reverei couldn’t be any less interested. She just wanted the title and power, and didn’t care about what Kronos might do. But she had no choice but to join the rest of the Elites. But once the final battle began, and Reverie fought alongside the rest of the Gizoids, eventually, she was surprised as [REDACTED] knock Chrome down, and announce his alliance to Kronos. How their creators might toss them aside once they finished their job.Reverie pondered this, and realized what [REDACTED] meant when she would now “bow down”. She didn’t like how her creators wouldn’t just leave her be, and had to trick and manipulate her way to her position, just for power. And why should she fall to their whims? It seemed some of the Gizoids were not agreeing with [REDACTED]’s message, especially the one known as Cobalt. And well... he didn’t need to stick around. So she charged him, ready to strike him down and silence him......When Argentum blocked her attack. Of course, it would’ve been him. And why did he decide to follow those stupid humans?Argentum and another Gizoid that she knew would never join Kronos, [REDACTED], ended up fighting her, alongside [REDACTED], who betrayed their ex-leader directly.[REDACTED] then fully announced his alliance to Kronos, and was given the power to unleash a storm of devastation. Reverie was reveling in how this pathetic world was coming to an end, rudding it in the faces of the Gizoids she betrayed. When much of her power suddenly was lost, the power given to her by the Chaos Emerald. Apparently, Chrome had called on the power of the Emeralds, taking them all into himself. And this made her angry. This was her power! Then Cobalt made a drastic move to take down [REDACTED]. At the request of [REDACTED], Reverie made her move to try and stop with what power she had left. But Argentum and [REDACTED] intercepted them, aiming to finish what they started. Reverie did her best... only for [REDACTED] to claim victory over her, and send her hurdling into the destruction of Little Planet...The fate of Reverie is unknown, but it is believed that she survived. And no doubt, she would be angry that her power was temporarily stolen from her, and would seek Chrome’s destruction, potentially even using the Ruby’s power to breach dimensions, if need be.Along with this, she would also willingly join [REDACTED] in swearing loyalty to Kronos, and bringing an end to everything. After all, they were the ones she would be willing to follow, up until the end of everything.
