Going in I knew it was gonna be a bit more on the effects-y side with a smaller figure and a lot more negative space to push emphasis on the character and the pitchfork. I wish I eased up a bit on the contrast of the figure, maybe should've given a layer of screen set at a lower opacity to help push it back more and leave the contrast more on the pitchfork itself, but it's ok.

I wasn't paying attention to time around the 20min. mark, just was going with the flow on things. As much as I like saturated pieces I think it could use a little desaturation a little, or maybe a shift in color to more of an orange/yellow than heavier on the reds. More sparks or particles, I like particles.

The blue tint to some of the licks of flame was from making a new layer, setting it to Overlay, and then doing a fill of blue and shifting it slightly. The hue picks up on the lighter, higher key areas and mixes with the orange and reds below depending on the saturation. Thinking about it now, I probably should've just dropped it, it's just something I tend to do in the last few seconds which adds another color to the piece to break up the monochromaticness, usually I like it but in this case I think maybe I should've kept it just red/orange. Ah well.
