Description
This was a bit of a journey... Originally I was thinking of doing something gelatinous, like blobs of stuff, guts and what not, but then I started doodling little holes, and my apologies to the trypophobics but it was pretty unsettling; I don't think I suffer from trypophobia I think, but I do not like lots of little holes in the least, it makes me feel very, very uneasy, which seemed to be in theme at least.

When I started laying in some of the basic colors, I had this idea that the structure was a hive of sorts, but then I thought it might be neat to have this priest of some kind coming out, or just standing outside of the hive. As I started adding more insect-like features to it I then thought it would be interesting if he were rooted to the front, like his devotion to this crazy hive of hole-loving bugs was so strong that he never left and became a part of the hive itself in a way, which then lead me to the idea of "what if the hive was built out of captured bodies, like the leftovers after the bugs or whatever are done with them?"

So I started sketching in quick gestures of arms and legs, hands, heads and torsos, all in either an outstretched plea for freedom or pushing against the structure that must have been enveloping them while they were still alive. It's harder to read this zoomed out, but I guess that's part of the issue of not thinking things through and just going where the ideas lead you. I dunno, this has stuff that bothers me personally, at least
