Description 30min. spitpaint, Photoshop CS6.

I'm sure the hunter thought it was a good idea at the time and it was certainly chilly before things got out of hand

The fire looks incredibly alive. I like the colours here- nice contrast between warm and cold shades

Thanks I've been trying to work color contrast a little more into my pieces, especially with lighting such as fire ;^^

Looks like the idea is coming from skyrim? Absorbing dragon's soul? Mayve I'm wrong. Β Impressive piece.

I was thinking more like the hunter started a small fire and it accidentally inferno'd and engulfed the dragon he had just slain lol

The fire looks like a dragon's head. Is it intentional ?Β

cobaltplasma In reply to Velekora [2016-05-15 19:39:24 +0000 UTC]

haha it's fakin' the funk... a smudgy midtone layer of fire, another layer of midtone oranges/reds, copy paste-into that layer again and set to color dodge, start smudging around and using the transform tool to make it more interesting. Β Then the coup de grace, a layer of gradients set to Soft Light over everything to help give it a unified 'lit by the fire' look to it haha.

Something like that ^_^
