Description So, the original plan was to wait with this game because they'll probably release a lot of DLCs for it and then a complete edition, like with previous games.
BUT
when I read that there is no level cap, and you won't stop getting xp like in Dragon Age: Inquisition, I just had to have it
I mean, infinite leveling?? Access to ALL the perks in one playthrough?? This is madness!!!
lol
The game is massive, I'm glad I got it during my winter vacation because even simple quests can get quite time consuming when you want to explore thoroughly. Now that they added settlements and crafting, it's worth to actually pick up all that collectable junk When I started with Fallout 3 a few years ago, I used to pick up EVERYTHING for caps, from a coffee cup to a folder to dinner plates. Every cap counted! In New Vegas, I only picked up valuable stuff, even though I was tempted to empty a room completely And now in Fallout 4, where you can scrap everything for crafting materials, I'm back at step 1

The character editor isn't perfect (like in DA: Inquisition ) but it's finally possible to create a decent looking male! Yay! I can finally travel the wasteland in a handsome way
So, this is my character, his name is Rój (pronounced "Rosh"), he's currently lvl 28, and after traveling for some time with Dogmeat, he's now romantically involved with Piper

The ghouls are definately my favourite enemies so far. When I first encountered them, I thought I'm in a The Walking Dead game I love the animations they gave them, instead of just plainly standing around like in the previous games, they are often hidden, lying idly on the ground or come crawling through a window... awesome. They're also a lot faster. Also, activating the VATS doesn't stop the game anymore, it just slows everything down, for some extra excitement! I'm loving the game

So what about you? Any of you playing the game or planning on getting it? Share your experiences!

then maybe I am that bad at Fallout 4 since I usually die if I don't wear it and venture to the unknown....That....or I don't invest in the weapon enhancing perks enough!.

yeah, 300 hrs is little for this title. I can almost guarantee it.

sad I am running out of cores... I better level up those perks then!

Yeah I read the cores are a finite source, so I'll save them for the endgame or if I get stuck
I can manage quite well, but I'm playing on easy

more than finite, they are EXPENSIVE as heck. even with all the shops it's hard to get caps. and duct tapes....o boy. they're more valuable than gold here. I know it "fixes everything" but it is ridiculous!

Heh, yeah because of the adhesive you need for all mods... but you can get unlimited adhesive by crafting vegetable starch on a cooking station which nets you 5 adhesive for every one starch. All you need is crops, purified water, tato and, what's it called? mutfruit I think... those purple fruits that grow on large in Diamond City I keep my eyes out for them and never run short on adhesive And there's actually a lot of duct tape to be found, especially in those red tool boxes ^^ You can also tag it for search, which will not only show a magnifying glass behind it in a shop, but also make the item stand out (appear green) when adventuring So when you're on a crafting station, try to craft something with adhesive, when you don't have enough, press R1 and you tag it for search I hope that helps. There's so much to be figured out yet! ^^

Oh! yeah, there's something new to see every time in Fallout 4 indeed. Thanks for the tips!!!! well, gotta farm em all!
I guess I wasn't planting mutfruits in vain after all! good thing didn't get rid of them!

Yeah! But they always grow back in Diamond City after a certain period of time, so you can get about 18 extra ^^

Wait hold on hold on, you're telling me that there is no level cap what so ever?! Bethesda put no level cap what so ever on a Fallout game?!?!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Coccineus In reply to Daxire [2015-12-21 18:08:55 +0000 UTC]

yup
not even a soft one like Bioware did in Dragon Age: Inquisition, where you stop receiving xp once you reached lvl 27. If they hadn't done that, I would probably still be running around Skyhold

Daxire In reply to Coccineus [2015-12-21 19:05:23 +0000 UTC]

So that means I can get every single perk in the game

Coccineus In reply to Daxire [2015-12-21 19:08:49 +0000 UTC]

yes
There are basically no limits... you just have to decide in which order you get them ^^ I'm focusing on lockpicking and terminals, because most good stuff is behind locked areas ^^ And modding and crafting of course, so the armorer, gun nut and science perks are a must!

Coccineus In reply to Becarra [2015-12-21 18:10:41 +0000 UTC]

It's not an exclusive, so if your PC is up for it, you wouldn't need a console I love my PS4 though

I do plan on getting a PS4 next year, funds permitting

Coccineus In reply to Becarra [2015-12-21 18:19:06 +0000 UTC]

I'm sure it will be cheaper by then
If it wouldn't have been for Bloodborne, I had waited longer to get one. But I don't regret it, because I enjoyed the games I've played so far immensely
