I don't know if you're still trying to do this, but the key (aparently) is to treat each of these points you've rasied as a new habit to learn; it takes about a month for us to learn a new habit, and its easier to learn if we try and implement it on its own, as oppossed to trying to do everything at once. So, if you focus on one or two points for a month or so, it'll become habit, and you can theoretically move on to learning the next new habit, as oppossed to over loading yourself with loads of new things to do and ultimately failing.
Also, sweet things are OKAY, you can't expect to cut all sugar out of you're diet; it's human nature to crave sweet things (the milk we drank when we were babies was sweet, so it stands to reason that we learn early on that sweet things are good). What isn't good is eating too much sugar, or too much fat, and not excercising enough.
Replacing sweet treats with fruits (especially fruits with high water content), is a better idea then cutting out all sugar from your diet, since all that will achieve will be a few days/maybe weeks of hardly eating anything sugary and then over induldging when you're will power cracks.

True but a lot has changed since i posted that up and i must say i got quite smarter about it
now i just eat healthy and do a lot of exercise and that's that. It works as it should
otherwise, the book Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle gave me a lot, so if anybody wants new wisdom - everything, really EVERYTHING is explained in there

Try to get the .pdf called Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle. The book is the best thing ever happened to me. It thoroughly explains how, why and what to do to reach your goal. It's not some book dealing with fat-loss, it simply explains what you are doing wrong, what you have to do to get it right. It gives you an idea of how your body functions if you do that, and how it does if you do sth else. It also explains that loosing fat is no magic but simple science; you have to eat healthy, reduce your calorie intake and exercise more - simple as that. It gives you a guidance in making your own meal plan and your own exercise schedule... It's just simply perfect! With this ANYONE can make it! You just need the courage to start and the will to stay at your plan - and that is hard. But hey, if you want it bad enough? I'd just say, it's really worth it

I lost 15 lbs (in about 6 weeks) following this diet [link] Just showing it in case you're still trying x33 I saw that you'd commented below saying you've lost a bit of weight but were still concerned about your eating habits.
It's basically a diet that has a caloric intake that matches my body weight. I.E. I weighted 326 lbs so I was eating about 3000 calories a day, to hopefully get down to that weight. When I get to 300, I will start eating 2500, and so on so forth until I can eat the accepted 1400 calories suggested per day. I don't follow it step by step, instead picking foods that I liked over things I didn't, just of an equal value. Also, I've been eating cookies, and chocolate and such all as a requirement ! for my intake.
As for exercise, I walk 20 minutes approximately every other day when I remember. I've been trying to do it more frequently so that I can lose and keep it off, but obviously I've still been losing weight without over doing the exercise. I've also been following a stricter sleep schedule (waking up and going to bed at the same time) and of course drinking as much water as possible ^^ (though I still get to drink diet soda, according to the book as much as I want, but one can a day is what I stick to).

Yes, it did
I lost 7kg in 3 months and built a lot of muscles, but now that I have 10 dancing classes per week and not enough time for lunch and stuff, I also eat sweets, so I stopped loosing weight x)
But I am thinking about staring to watch over my eating habits again :3

Actually, water doesn't have any calories unless you get that crap-store-bought water.
Pasta is healthy for you.
You're not supposed to eat four hours prior to going to bed.

Coco-Igi In reply to BrittVelvettx [2010-06-08 06:59:59 +0000 UTC]
True, water doesn't have any unless it's one of this flavoured ones. It actually helps to burn fat.
Pasta is healthy if you eat it in a whole wheat version... It keeps you full longer, your insulin level is lower (which means less chances for wanting to eat a chocolate), plus you get a lot of fibre, which is also great! Otherwise it's just unnecessary calories.
About not eating before bed... that's a topic for some other time... Some say you should not eat 2 hours before going to bed, some say 3, some 4. I for myself don't eat after 7 p.m. and go to bed around 11 or 12 p.m. And it works fine ^^

Good advice and good luck♥
I lost 20 pounds by doing a light workout in the evening (yoga is very relaxing, and great before bed), cutting out sodas entirely for water (Arizona brand has diet green tea, which I recommend for helping to kill a caffeine addiction), killing unhealthy snacks in favor of fresh fruits and veggies, and eating better all around.

Thanks
I actually lost 17 pounds by cutting down everything containing sugar and 'unhealthy' fats and I also drank a lot of water. I stopped with snacks and such stuff - it really helped and I felt much better. That was during the school year (I actually did that for 3 or 4 months - from january till april) where I had around 3 hours of dancing a day - and I felt totally hyperactive and happy all the time (I didn't loose the 24 pounds that I wanted though, but I got a lot of muscle tissue so it's not so bad).
It all worked great, but then the summer came and the dancing classes are on 'vacation' so I can't work out that way and I hate it >.< I tried running and stuff like that, but I don't like it that much...
I can't stop counting days till school starts again, so I can dance <3 (I'm really addicted to it >w< ) and then I'll do the same again, so I guess I'll be able to loose another 17- 20 pounds and call myself a ballerina

If there's room at your place you can buy a dance workout dvd, and on most cable stations in the US, they have fitness channels with tons of different programs. Maybe they'll work for you?

Heh, thanks for the suggestion but I don't live in the US
My TV never gets any of such programs ether :/ and my room is to small for that (+ I rarely watch sth on DVD so I don't even have a player for it) :///
I could watch it on my laptop, but I really don't feel like doing sth like that >.< Dunno why...
I'll just wait 'till the summer passes and then bother with it again

Coco-Igi In reply to KristieConspiracy [2010-01-31 19:35:28 +0000 UTC]
Well, it always works for me if I go running. But I'm the kind of person that needs daily exercise so I did sit-ups in the morning then went to school and then had dancing classes. I also strongly recommend taking up a sport that you find interesting (if you don't have one already) and if you have the possibility go to a fitness studio. Do any of it at least 3-4 times a week, the more the better. I also stopped eating after 7 or 8 in the evening and tried not to eat any sweet stuff. Also if you want to loose inches around your waist do exercises for that, if you want to loose inches in your legs go running etc. More muscles you have more kcal you need to keep your system running = more fat you burn. It also always helps if you eat less kcal than you burn (though this might be harder than it sounds).
And as I said, for me worked daily exercise

Awww. I want to go to Egypt one day...if only to tour the tombs or get a killer tan. XD joking. Anyway. I went out to a theme park with ~blackenergy and his mum today...apparently I forgot to put a LOT of sunscreen on: my shoulders are ACHING, and my feet, back of my hands, back, chest and thighs are burnt. The thighs in particular are interesting-They seem to have gotten burnt while I was on the Swinging Pirate Ship. You know them? So I got a line from the bar through my leg. Haha...I suck some more.
Ahh, I hate those times. I manage it every year - the cold in summer, I mean. How often do you?

Me toooo!!! *cry* We don't have a theme park in our CoUnTrY!!!! How lame is that?! It happened just twice in my life that I've been to one and it was really amazing Just that, in compare to yours, it was raining both times and we had like 14 degrees C. Like totally yaaay -.-'
I like the part that you burned your thighs xD You're the first person I know that has done that xD Congraz
I thin it's really funny xD Like.... we rarely have to think about that and I almost never put sunscreen on xD (well maybe just because I happen to be grounded for most of the summer and I don't get to see much of outside x'D)
Ps.: You don't suck! I think you're really cool actually
It happens like twice or 3 times a year that I catch a cold and it's mostly at the time I'm under a lot of pressure and I work 48/7 xD But summers hold mostly 1 or 2 - one in july and one in september xD

Thanks for the support. ^_^
Ha, I've been to three - 2 mostly water and 1 normal. Ever heard of the Gold Coast, in Australia? What about the Sunshine Coast? At the water park, it was freezing, but I still went on heaps of water things. At the other one, it rained and they closed most of the good rides. But I'll never forget the Scooby Doo Coaster...we thought it'd be a cheesy ghost train, so all of us - even mum, who hates rides - went on it. Turned out it was a rollercoaster, with twists and turns and spins and going backwards...never ever seen my sister that terrified. XDDD
Pfft. Thanks so much ! Kidding! I can't believe I managed it either, really. Guess thats a sign that I need some board shorts or something, eh? I'll be sure to let you know if I get my face burnt while I'm wearing sunglasses. (THANK GOD MY FACE DOESN'T BURN EASY, THANK GOD!!!!!!!!!!)
Hem hem. I've never been grounded - even that time I soaked my sisters room with a hose. I'm too antisocial, so what's the point? Instead, they punish me by making me go out. NOOOOO!!!!
I almost always wake up with my nose running (to the fridge or something, haha...not), but I almost never get colds in winter. It's WEIRD.

Hey, somehow my face doesn't get burnt (or if it does I never notice :/)much, and it's weird. But if I wear anything that shows my shoulders, I'm doomed. BIZARRE, eh?
So your mum grounded you 'cause the doctor said you were sick?

Hahaha, well to be honest I didn't know about it until some months ago when we discussed it in geography xD
Damn, now I won't get to see your burnt face xD xD
Well, maybe your face got more resistant because of wearing make up and your shoulders never wear it, lol xD
Yeah I know... but the doctor also said that if I wouldn't stay inside I could get some kind of lung virus that would get me into staying in the hospital for some weeks... but me as me, sure I wouldn't want to listen to the doctor and would go dancing, so mum saw no solution than grounding me x'D
Ok, just that you aren't angry *relief* (I know some people that get really mad if you don't write back right away O_o)

Ps: a pretty lame question, since I'm on DA for some years now but... *looks around suspicious and whispers* what does it exactly mean to 'feature some work' or to 'be featured'? ((I know it's stupid but I never got around reading something about that before *please excuse my dumbness*))

Yes, well, but at least you were paying attention. Though I don't get WHY you'd be discussing the Gold Coast in geography. Unless it was the Great Barrier Reef?
Um, that might make sense. Except I hate make-up and never wear it. This may because of my experiences with my eleven-year-old sister: her and her eleven-year old friend applied make-up to their faces. They ended up looking like hookers, and about 20 years older.
Ouch, hehe. My mum'd never ground me totally, and not just 'cause of the social thing. I'd get to go to school and extra-curricular activities, but that would be it. Not that anyone would ever think to ground me. I only know what it is 'cause I read too many American books! LOL
Aw, those people are buttheads. You should ditch 'em if they're like that.
In response to PS...being 'featured' basically means I go through you gallery, pick some stuff I like, and then, because >I< do it, I always mention something I like about the person. It makes them feel good.

Well, I mostly ain't paying much attention to stuff I'm not interested in, but I like Australia xD (dunno why though)... It was something with a reef, yes, but I do remember the teacher said something about something golden, so that must have been it xD
Hahahahhaha, yeah well happens if you put TOO MUCH on xD But keeping it simple and easy is just ok :3 I mean... if you apply make up just so you cover up the uneven colours of your face (as I do) and draw a line with the eye-shadower it shouldn't be too much and you should still look normal
Hahahah, well then you must be very 'hard-working' and never mess anything up xD I'm pretty 'rebellious' as my mum would put it, but I don't see it that way... I mean... I always arrange thing so that every thing goes my way and I get what I want. I know that it sounds spoiled, but I truly aren't xD I just don't like other people to get their noses into my business and I like to have things arranged :3
Yeah I know... But I just don't have a heart for it xD

And there ain't much of it! But really...totally boring, it is. I got to study Greek once, and we get the language and tradition in LOTE (which we don't actually TAKE at my current school), but the Greece thing was only for like, what, a month? Oh my God. I think that's just your school though. Hehe...
Ouch, I never failed at maths. In fact I'm at the top of the top maths class! Which I probably already said...0.o
Whatever. Anyway, good thing you like you're class! A guy in my class is convinced I'm married to another guy in the class with his last name spelt different to mine but pronounced the same. (he's Reid, I'm Read). It's annoying - the other day he goes 'when're the divorce papers coming in?' and I, very pissed off, said 'next week.'
Gyah, no you wouldn't. It gives people false impressions of self worth. Which is mean of me to say!
That's what I thought, you don't seem like a straight F student. hehe. (that's a compliment, BTW). Wish I still took languages. I wanna sign up for a language course through co... co... correspondence!
Aww, that's okay! Everyone sucks sometimes, but usually not as often as they think.
Me? I'm a dear old Kiwi: New Zealand born and Aussie bred. Definitely! Though I learnt to talk in NZ, which would explain the accent only true Aussie's think I have.
