Description
A gust of a cool early morning breeze swept through the hair of the brown female who sauntered up a hill where she is to meet up with the yellow Wyngro whom invited her over to his boyfriend's place some time ago. She had something rather important to discuss with him is why she arranged for them to meet up on a hill of a tall, yet large tree. It's amusing to her, really. She has not known this gro for too long but surprisingly got along with him fairly quick. Oh, and his boyfriend was an absolute delight to speak to as well. She still can't get over how cute he was...
In all seriousness, the fast bond between the two provoked a thought in Jane's mind towards a topic that she was already pondering over. She prays that Casper will at least embrace himself for it... And hopefully not freak out, if that's even a possibility.
As soon as she showed up it appears that he was already there patiently waiting for her arrival.
His magic glands briefly illuminated a yellow color before his eyes met the approaching female.
"Ah! You're here!" He scoots over to make some room, eagerly gesturing her to claim the spot. "Come sit! Come sit!"
Jane couldn't help but allow a chuckle to escape from watching his behavior. It amuses her how eager he is. Almost like a Wyngling at a candy store. She took a spot right next to Casper, both gave each other a greetful nod.
"So... What was it that you wanted to discuss with me? You said it was important."
"Ah, yes. But before I do, there's something that I should explain first. You might be able to decipher where I'm going with it afterwards."
"Very well" Casper lays himself back against the tree with arms behind his head. "I'm all ears."
Jane took a few breaths before clearing her throat and adjusted her sitting posture. "Here it goes..." she whispered beneath her breath.
"Few months ago I was found in a difficult circumstance. I um..."
Jane was unsure what to mention first. The fallout between her and a friend or what came after. Probably for the best to leave out the first one.
"I was, er... eggbound..."
Casper's ears quickly dropped followed by widened eyes. Stunned to even know how to react. At least for Jane he's not freaking out. Yet...
"J-Just let me finish and then you can... react however you feel necessary."
"R-Right! Of course...!" He chuckled, albeit awkwardly.
She cleared her throat once more and proceeded. "As I was saying- I was eggbound few months back. Primarily I thought I knew what to do with the egg once it was laid. I was willing to care for it and provide everything I can. But when it was finally laid I was immediately strucked with second thoughts..."
Jane held a paw to her chest, resisting the urge to tear up from the painful decision she made that night. If only she was emotionally well back then she would've kept the egg.
"I-I was already going through a very rough circumstance prior to my pregnancy. I was not emotionally well on most days to the extent of forcing myself to try and at least become motivated to perform various tasks and activities throughout the day. Especially to care for my boys. Up until the egg was layed I realized that I... I..."
"That you weren't emotionally well or stable enough to care for it" Casper finishes the sentence for her. Fighting back the tears Jane gave a nod.
"...I hate myself so, so much for letting it go... I never got the chance to meet my baby..."
"But you did what was best for the sake of the child and yourself."
Jane hugged her arms, averting her eyes as she was unsure if what she did was a good decision for the well-being of the baby. "I don't know if I did the right thing, Casper..."
"You did do the right thing, though." He added. "You were already going through hard times that were making it difficult for you to cope. Thus, affecting your emotional health. If you kept the egg around any longer when the time came for it to hatch, chances are you wouldn't of been able to provide it with the love and care it deserved. And there's no telling if things were to escalate afterwards. Therefore, you had to do what any mother would in that situation. In the end it was an arduous decision, but you knew what was right."
...
...Silence. Jane was letting it sink in. She already knew this. It's the precise reason why she had to let the egg go. Yet, it's astonishing to her ears to hear this from someone else. At the same time it made her feel a little better.
"Thank you, Casper..."
Now that that's out of the way, it was time to get to the point. The main reason why she arranged the meeting between them. Just thinking about it after spilling all of that on Casper already has her cheeks burning up. Leaving her flustered to figure out how she wants the words to come out without setting an awkward mood.
"S-S-So now that you k-know... I, uh... I-I was h-hoping you w-wouldn't mind t-t-to... er..."
Casper heeded Jane's stuttering speech. He held up a hand to stop her.
"Jane" he spoke to her in a soft tone. "I think I know what this is about now after you shared your story with me."
"Y-You do?" Jane quickly felt embarrassed. Her cheeks became more flushed than they already were. Guess spilling all of that information on him allowed him to put two and two together.
"You want a second chance, don't you?" He scuffed his goatee and had a slight smirk upon his face.
Hesitant, she answered with a nod.
"Y-Yeah..." Her blush practically covered most of her face. "I know we haven't known each other for too long... But you've been incredibly kind to me when you offered to help relieve my troubled mind. In truth I've been thinking about this after I gave up my first child, but I've been too reluctant to ask any available males if they'd like to assist me."
Jane attempted to lower her head to tuck between her shoulders to prevent her blushing face from being exposed. Though it's still noticeable to Casper, unfortunately.
"Casper I understand if you're not comfortable with all of this. And I'm fine with taking no for an answer. I was only wondering if you wouldn't mind-"
"I'll do it."
"...Wait, what?"
He cocked a grin. "I said I'll do it."
Jane blinked a few times trying to process his answer. He answered so fast she was half-expecting him to think it over. Not that she's complaining. Just bewildered.
"What's wrong? Coatala got your tongue?" He snickered from how baffled she looks. "I honestly don't mind helping you out with this, Jane. You came to me for a reason and I'd be more than glad to assist."
"Are... are you sure about this, Cas? You don't want to take time to think this over or anything? And you're absolutely positive you want to go through with it?"
"Positive!!"
"Well..." She tapped a claw against her chin. "...Then I guess as long as you're fine with this , things should be able to work out."
Casper beamed a wide goofy grin. "That's great! Just let me know when you're ready and I'll be there! Oh! I'll have to inform Scott about this first." He immediately stood up with his wings completely stretched out as if he was ready to take off. Before he could leave, he looked back at the Jane.
"By the way, and I'm only asking this out of curiosity, what will you do if you end up with more than one?"
"Oh... That's a good question." Jane didn't think about that despite the chances are normally slim to produce more than one. "Maybe... If I end up with-- oh say, two, I'll either care for both or allow you to keep one. I-If you don't mind, I mean."
"I wouldn't mind that at all if it came to that! Heh. It's your choice either way. Was only curious." He takes some steps forward near the edge of the hill preparing himself to take off into the skies.
"Wait!" Jane stopped him. "O-One thing I want to ask and then I'll let you go."
"Oh yeah? Hit me."
"When you walked with me back to my home that night you mentioned that you do not live with your boyfriend, correct?"
"That is correct. But..."
"But what?"
He gazed at the view below him, eyes closed having a peaceful thought. A grin stretched on his face as he turned to look back at Jane one more time.
"It's finally time for me to be there for him and my son that we raise together. No more frequent visits. I was originally held back at the thought of wanting to care and be there for my sisters. But all of them are adults and I know they're more than capable of looking after each other and providing for themselves. It'll hurt to leave them but I know they'll understand. After all..."
He took a dive off of the edge and quickly rose back up in the air with the help of his wind magic adding some gust for support.
"It's what family do. And I'd do anything for my family."
With that he departs into the skies back to home. Jane watched as he flies off into the horizon. She stood up and walked close to the edge, gazing at the view. Gusts of wind were blown against her hair and the fluff on her neck. She brought her paws together, facing down closing her eyes.
"A second chance... I'll never let go of my child again. Ever..."
