"Hey, Al! I finally found you!" Eppard sits down next to Alvern whom seems to display a troubled look on his face. "Is something bothering you? You look kind of worried there, pal."

Alvern averted his eyes, nervously scratching the back of his head. "Ah... It's nothing bad. It's just... something I've been having on my mind for quite some time now. It's kind of been eating at me..."

"Oh?" Eppard raises a brow. "What's been biting at you? Was it your Runeboo again?" he joked. "Get it? Because you said eating?"

"Heh... I get it, Epp" Alvern manages to crack a small grin. "But no. It's not my silly Runeboo chewing at my feathers this time. Like she normally does..." He shakes his head, trying to stay focus. "I've been having this desire to have... a k-kid..." His face was flushed.

The webbed ears of the blue 'Gro rise upward in surprise. "Oh! Is that it? Then you should just adopt an egg whenever you get the chance, Al. Simple as that!"

"I wish it was that simple, Epp..." he heaved a sigh.

Eppard was rather baffled at this. His buddy said he wanted a kid. Adopting an egg is often the best solution. "Alvern, you just said it yourself that you want a kid. Why not adopt an egg?"

"Because I don't want to adopt an egg, Epp. I... I want to have my own kid."

Eppard took a few seconds to process what Alvern meant.

"Oh... That's what you mean."

"Yeah..." Alvern tilts his head downward. "A-And the thing is, I want to keep it afterwards. F-For myself. I have no intentions on looking for a permanent mate. Just one that's willing to do 'it' with me until it's laid."

"Have you tried asking any females around if they're willing to commit?" Epp questioned.

"Eppard, I can't just randomly walk up to a female and ask 'Hey, wanna be my temporary partner and have an egg with me that I'll keep afterwards?'"

"Worth a try!" Eppard joked followed by a snort. "Just kidding! But seriously, though. I think I understand. Besides, the least that could happen if you attempted such an assertive method is get an earful from said female."

"No kidding..." Alvern lies back. "I dunno what to do... I really want to have one. And I can't just randomly ask a female if they're not willing to give up the egg to me. Not to mention I'm not familiar with a lot of females to begin with in order to go through with this whole thing..."

"Sounds like you got some sort of dilemma goin' on here, buddy." Eppard lies back with the green 'Gro. "Hey. Don't let this get you down, pal. Who knows? Maybe you'll get lucky if a female is willing enough to go through the process with ya." He pats Alvern's shoulder. "Life always has a fun, yet mysterious way of working. I'm pretty sure it'll come around."

Alvern turns to his friend with a small grin. Feeling reassured. "Thanks, Eppard."

"No worries!" Eppard grins back. "I'm assuming once you find the one, you can't wait to get a taste of her, huh?"
