this shows harry repairing his old wand with the elder wand.
i always liked that (short) part in the book, harry not being willing to take the elder wand as his own, although it's the supposedly most powerful one of all.
instead, he repairs his old one, the one that shared a core with voldemort's wand, but also the one harry used through his hogwarts years.
i felt like this gesture meant something more - accepting himself like he is, not wanting to use dumbledore's old wand (which was what voldemort intended to do) or simply finally understanding that the hallows were really not worth their trouble.
