...I knew all about her, had read all the books about the woman who had ensured peace and freedom in Republic City for over half a century.
She had been a natural fighter. Powerful, hot-headed and witty. Beautiful.
'So unlike me...', I thought as I faced the life-sized statue of Avatar Korra.
Even her mere replica sent a shiver down my spine.
My fingertips began to tingle strangely – it felt like Korra might be watching me.
Cautiously I peered up into her confident features. The statue remained unmoving and intimidating.
The sun illuminated the hall and I was cast into shadow by the stony woman before me.
How was I ever going to step out of it?
How was I ever going to live up to the legend of Korra?
I, the new Avatar.

I am kind of proud of this.....the idea just popped into my head and wanted to be drawn.
I really enjoyed drawing Korra like a Greek statue and had great fun picturing the new Avatar, a kid of about 12, Earthbender.
This scene takes place some 80 years in the future.
Because Korra is a waterbender I wanted her to resemble this statue of Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea:

lol, i like the new Avatar...an eartbender would be interesting to watch...then finally a firebender! then the series is complete!

Amazing, but also kind of sad, like in The Legend of Korra where we see Aangs statue, and Toph's and Zuko's and when Katar says: my brother and most of my friends ar dead :')

This is amazing. I can assume the new Avatar is Earth (since that is the next in the cycle). I can actually imagine Korra visiting the new Avatar and being like, "We all know how you felt. We're hear, here for you, here to guide you and help you. You'll do even better than me or Aang..." and all that other stuff
