Description
Turin of my version. P.S. Turin is one of my least favorite roles in Tolkien's works... I just met him this time on the paper. Hope I won't meet him again.****
WHY I don't like him?
First, he killed Beleg.
Second, everything is not his fault, it's Morgoth, it's the beast, it's the elves, it's the sword, really..? He always blame the others but himself.
I don't pity him at all. I feel sorry for his family and his friends, not him, no. Reading this novel let me know one thing, I don't have to love every bit of Arda.

I feel same here. I always asked myself why the hell didn´t he think of all this shit befor he did??? YES, many things he could not control or he just don´t know, BUT if he had used his brain on some things, it would not have been that bad! He blamed not only the others. He did it himself too, but he NEVER learned something about it!!! And that´s the reason why I don´t like him.
The best part of his brainlessness:
"Oh somebody is fiddling with my shackles ... NO he does not want to free me, he want to kill me!"
... Yeah ... yeah ... sure! -.-* ... f***
Edit: Ups I forgot: Great work, I really like such sketchy lines and his face and hands are so well done!

yeah, Turin isn't my favorite either. I think much of the tragedy of his life didn't come from the Curse of Morgorth, it came from Turin's own pride and terrible choices. I mean, Mogorth didn't force Turin to abandon Finduilas and Nargothrond to bloody death...

Funny as Turin is one of my favourites in Tolkien's universe - something to with the whole 'anti-hero' thing. Regardless of our disagreement there, excellent piece indeed. Very moody and evocative.
Regarding whether Turin was blameless or not, I think the curse of Morgoth really is important to bear in mind here. I think Tolkien was, in effect, attempting to subvert the emphasis of free will in Christian theology by asking what would happen if the devil was provide you with his 'version' of free will, i.e., is it fate? Determinism? Anyway, I'm rambling - great work!

I agree with you completely and utterly! The character is such a nuisance and bother, damn his eyes.
I DO love your drawing, it captures the feeling of that story really well, and your skill is awesome. It's an incredibly good-looking piece of art, and I love it, even though I dislike Turin so very strongly...

Poor bastard! I always thought that his story would make a fantastic drama if the fantasy aspect wasn't overdone in the movie.

He can't be a regular Hollywood movie lead role...I think, too much struggle, no final victory, killing the worm is more like revenge than victory. Maybe in a dark tone alternative movie, though I doubt that Tolkien Foundation would allow this to happen.

A really good work, I especially love the flames and the facial expression of Turin.
Spoiler
Turin kills Beleg and shoves away other people,
cause he recognizes that all beings around him
have to await a horrible end and there's a reason for it.

Well for how much you seems to dislike this character you sure did an awesome job drawing him! Maybe some of your hate comes through in the pain and angst of his expression, which is fitting for him. (I didn't like him very much either, though I did pity him a little).

I don't like him because he always blames all the world but himself.
Besides he killed his best friend "accidentally"? The most unacceptable about this man, to me, is, always Morgoth's fault, other people's fault, soword's fault, and really? He did nothing wrong?
And, thank you for like my drawing of him.

I felt the same way at first, but I felt a lot more sympathetic for him after reading the novel-length Narn i Chin Hurin. Beautiful portrait of him!

Your version is very close to what I imagined. It's a pity you won't do more of him , because you captured the essence of this character very well.

Very nice! Túrin is one of my favourite humans due to the complexity of his personality, and the tragic circumstances in which he finds himself.

Did you know that a man as Turin was Kullervo son of Kalervo in Kalevala.
