Dylan was a teenage boy wearing a blue jacket, green pants, white socks, and black shoes. One day he found himself in a place he had never been before. There was absolute chaos on the street. He had to go somewhere that was relatively safe before he got hurt. A large sign nearby said "Happy Hotel". That was as good a place as any so he ran inside as quickly as he could.

For a place called Happy Hotel, the place was really depressing. No one else was there at the time. It was just Dylan and the dark and dull colors. Then he noticed an old radio cane in the corner. It appeared to be more than a century old. Out of curiosity, he went over to the cane and picked it up.

As soon as it touched it a beam of red fire emerged from the cane and went around in circles. At first it was just his arm but once it reached his shoulder it began looping around his entire body. While the fire encircled him his entire body transformed.

The cane he had picked up belonged to someone known as Alastor Hartfelt, better known as the Radio Demon. That was the person he was becoming. His jacket turned dark red with vertical light red stripes. A red shirt could be seen underneath. His pants turned black and his black shoes acquired some red stripes.

His body was also transforming. His hands became pitch black while his face turned a pale white. The teeth inside his mouth became yellow and pointed while his eyes turned red. Even the whites of his eyes turned red. His hair became red and black. Finally what appeared to be red and black horns emerged from the top of his head completing his look.

Dylan went to the nearest mirror to see his new look. That was the last thing he did as Dylan. The personality of Alastor was taking over. He no longer saw himself as Dylan. The memories of Dylan were fading away and if he did remember anything it was not important to him. He was Alastor Hartfelt, the Radio Demon, a serial killer from the early twentieth century.

Pleased with the way he looked, Alastor set to work changing the environment of the hotel. The first thing he needed to change was the name. From that point on it would be known as Hazbin Hotel. He would see to it that people came from all over the land. Things would no longer be dull and boring.
