The door to the library slowly creaked open and Jiri looked inside. Despite the room being completely dark, the open door provided enough light for him to see this was a library. It was the Forbidden Library but he had no way of knowing this. All he knew was that he managed to get himself lost.

The only light source Jiri could find was the one he brought with him. It would have to do. Examining the books, he found most of them contained spells he could not understand or even figure out what they did. He thought it best to leave them alone.

Eventually he found a spiral staircase in the center of the room leading upwards. Jiri headed up the staircase, tripped, regained his composure, and finally reached the top.

This is where he found the strangest thing of all. It was a tiny crown. Although he had enough sense to avoid attempting strange spells, he did not have the same sense when it came to mysterious objects. Jiri took the crown and placed it on his head. As soon as he did, the transformation began.

Jiri shrank in size becoming small and thin while his mostly black clothing became more colorful. Realizing his mistake, he reached for the crown on top of his head to remove it but by that time it was too late. It remained firmly in place.

His hair grew longer and became lighter in color. The nature of the change became clearer as his clothing became more feminine resembling a formal dress. Stockings appeared going up most of her legs. Soon after that he, or she, became fully female. Her hair split into pigtails which acted like springs. Their tips turned pink as they grew all the way down to her waist.

All the changes were too many for her to take in at once but one change entered her mind which made all the others go away. Her mind was filled with the name, Beatrice. She understood it was her duty to take care of the Forbidden Library. She had to wait for "That Person" to arrive. If Beatrice left before then, the entire library would be destroyed. She could not let that happen so she had to wait.

Beatrice cast a spell to light up the library which she instinctively knew. Next she cast a spell to clean the place. A cat came running up from a hidden part of the library and leapt into her arms. Beatrice knew this was Puck, an animal spirit who would keep her company during her stay in the library. Whether it would be minutes or centuries, "That Person" would eventually arrive and she needed to be ready.
