"What is a harpy?" Quentin asked his magical friends. Mere seconds later, he regretted asking the question but by that time it was too late. His friends decided it would be best to show him so he could see for himself. They presented a mirror to him, or rather her, so she could see the harpy she had become.

"A harpy is a creature with the head of a woman and the wings and claws of a bird," the first of them explained.

"They were known for capturing and torturing people," chimed in a second. "They were associated with the wind and would carry off all kinds of things, including people."

The group seemed quite pleased with the transformation they had performed although it was proper magical etiquette to ask Quentin for permission first. It was something they would learn in the future, but for the moment that would not do Quentin any good.

"Alright, I know what a harpy is now," sighed Quentin. "How about changing me back?"

"I'm afraid we can't at the moment," replied a third. "It took the magical energies of the entire group to transform you. We need a chance to rest and restore our magical energies before we can cast such a spell again."

"What am I supposed to do in the meantime?" snapped Quentin.

"Try flying around the room," suggested a fourth. "See what a harpy can do."

Quentin flew around the room. It was not what she wanted to do, but without the use of her hands at the moment she did not see any alternative. Whatever she did, she did not want to disturb the rest of the others. That would only delay them further.
