So, bit confused, she(the new girl) asked to stay as she was, or did I misread that. The typeset was rough to read and the colors clash a bit. Otherwise, good cap.

The witch changed him into that because he thought he should embrace her interpretation, however, the reaction he had was that by having her change him into that, it was scary and thus in his interpretation.
