Description
So much coloring. Another work of Cluedog's ( ) I colored. This one being a tribute to Star Wars. I tried to incorporate the theme by basing the colors for Tank and (Whatever the dude's name is) off of Luke Skywalker and Han Solo respectively.Be sure to check out the background. There are quite a few easter eggs and I tried to accent them with the coloring. Some ones I noticed were a maskless Darth Vader, a Dalek from Dr. Who, a young Anakin Skywalker, a jawa, a player from the cantina, and an R-5 unit.

I know that does extreme detail in the drawings. This drawing is certainly no different. Your coloring strangely reminds me of "Firefly" for whatever reason. Perhaps it looks multicultural world that is much like the wild west of a outer edge colony. I do not know the original background, but it is fun to see the magical blue lightning, and of course the hair changing to bubblegum pink. All in all, you make me wish whatever this was based on shoot this and put it on Netflix.

It wasn't so much the detail that hurt me here, it was just a lot to color.
Maybe it's the fact that it's based on a space opera and I used brightly saturated colors because I like them a lot, which gave it the feel of early technicolor or the first color t.v. programs.
The lightning was me wanting to think of a way to translate that original art depiction using my editor into color and I thought the blue with a gaussian blur would do the trick. The hair going to bubblegum pink was actually mostly the work of the lines actually. I kept it the same hue throughout it was just that the original lines also got brighter
From what I know, it was based off of a Star Wars fan fiction that started before the Disney reboot. Unfortunately that means that means an adaptation is unlikely to happen.

Your color preferences are similar to what I like to work with, although I don't go as far with saturation as you do. I can understand why you saturate because that is the main way to get your bright vibrant colors seen. I hadn't thought about early Technicolor, but I can see how you could have that with this piece. Oh, and I guess the light saber should've been a clue this was related to Star Wars, but I seem to remember there were a few science fiction movies right after "A New Hope" that featured their own version of a light sword, Come to think of there was an old animated series Filmation did called Thundar. He had a light sword and his sidekick looked like a feline Wookie.

Love this! Question: Is the girl in blue supposed to be a member of Starfleet? It looks like a Sciences uniform...

Thank you very much.
Now that you say that, she might have meant to be. Actually, her pants were originally pitch black, but I made it dark brown. (Keep in mind I only colored this)

For what you based the colors on, you actually come fairly close to the characters actual color palettes. Nicely done!

I did not know the characters the images were based off of until after I made it.
Thank you for the compliment.

It's all good, you worked with his inks and managed to apply your own take on it.

You're welcome. I am happy you enjoy this. I hoped that I would make such an improvement to this already excellent piece. I am glad that my effort was worth it.
