Paul threw several envelopes full of what he thought was just mail into the trash. Several days later, he took the trash outside. The day after that, he tried to purchase something with his credit card and discovered it had expired. His new credit card was in the envelope he had thrown away.

Paul hurried home. To his relief, the trash had not been collected yet. He rummaged through the trash for the proper trash bag. When he found it, he also found a raccoon in between the trash bags. He screamed as the raccoon jumped out and bit him in the arm.

His scream became higher pitched, but Paul did not notice. He just shook the raccoon off and grabbed the trash bag. He rummaged through the trash bag, found the envelope and opened it. The first true feelings of change came when he found his new credit card. The numbers were the same, but the name was Paula instead of Paul.

Paula noticed her hair was growing and her body was becoming more feminine. Not knowing what else to do, she decided to take a nap. By the time she woke up, she was completely female. She knew she should be panicking, but instead she just casually accepted the changes. In addition to becoming female, she had gained some of the features of a raccoon. Over time she learned to control them.

A new vigilante superhero was in town, Raccoon Girl. She would rummage through trash cans and discover incriminating documents proving how rich tycoons swindled poor people out of their hard earned money and other things. No one suspected that Raccoon Girl was actually Paula or that she had once been a boy named Paul. Paula vowed that Raccoon Girl would make the city safer for the common people.
